Wasp spray, toilet paper, and a car freon refill kit. Glamorous, my life.

Whatever you have planned this weekend, you can count me out.

Yesterday:  Yard of bark mulch, pavers, landscaping timbers and lag bolts.  I too, lead a glamorous life.

Took my gf out after work to this ice cream shop.

I got a burger and malt.  She got fries and a sundae.

$11. I don't do it often so it was alright.

Heh. Each item was used separately, for its designated purpose, not in conjunction with the others. The wasp spray is pretty exciting, actually, as it was needed to clear the way to put more siding on the house. The freon is relatively exciting, too, or will be when I drive home from work tomorrow. Hopefully the toilet paper usage will be routine rather than exciting... :-)

Sounds like fun, though.

Big purchase today - finally bought a saddle.  Luckily it's used but in excellent condition, for WAY less than a new one.  And the seller is holding it for me until my Chase Sapphire Preferred card arrives - so I'll be able to make the $3K spend requirement to get the $400 cash back sign-up bonus.

April is turning out to be an expensive month.  Going to try hard to ratchet the spending back in May.

Nothing. Should have done the grocery shopping, but I got busy here and then got tired and didn't go anywhere. We're not going to starve any time this month or next if I don't get to the store.

Likely I'll do it on Tuesday, since it looks like we'll be out of milk and peanuts by then.

Went to a yard sale yesterday and a bought an Eddie Bauer wooden high chair for $10 (wife is pregnant), great condition just need to sanitize it. Brand new it would be $140. Today I did not buy anything.

Nothing yet, but I will buy gas later on. Also frozen tater tots, the splurge of the day.

Yesterday was fencing and fence posts, not for us, but for in-laws. Oh, and I'm buying them a pet door, too. They can't afford anything, in worse shape than I really realized. If I don't buy them a grocery gift card today, it'll happen in the next couple of days when I get to the big grocery store.

A bike!!!! It's my birthday, and I requested a no-gift deal with my husband this year since I wanted to get one. I've been saving my pennies to finally buy a bike so I can start commuting to work and go for family rides. It wasn't used, but I've been watching Craigslist off and on for the last 6 months and nothing much showing up.

Unexpectedly, I bought 25 pounds of Vidalia onions, rather my husband did, for a fundraiser at school. I am actuallyquite pleased about it; I knew they were selling onions, but thye hadn't said it was Vidalia onions this year. They've always specified in the past. I've been wondering where I was going to get my onions for the year. Now I have about half of them :-)

Nothing today, but yesterday I had to go fix sprinklers at our old house, so sprinkler heads and parts, for one.

I've also dropped a chunk of change this weekend taking advantage of memorial day sales for horse equipment that I've been planning to buy, and which rarely goes on sale.  So:  pair of nicer breeches to wear to clinics/schooling shows, 2 saddle pads for a crafty experiment, riding gloves, 5 hoof rasps (should last at least two years), cowboy boots, and 5 pairs of boot socks.

Working on the windows -- bought primer and glazing compound.

Also is grocery day -- but didn't buy much since we're moving soon. Just some things to flesh out meals made from the freezer.

Bifocal safety glasses for work, $13. I'll drop by the front office tomorrow and get my money refunded out of petty cash, so my purchase today cost me nothing.

However, I screwed up by using my Lowe's card to get the 5% discount and save the company some money. If I'd have used my Amazon rewards card I would have earned 13 cents profit from my purchase (1% reward). Oh well, maybe next time I will be thinking more clearly.

10 40 pound bags of topsoil, a gallon of deck sealer, a watering can and lawn bags from Home Depot $45.

Thai food lunch. We barely eat out nowadays, so there is still plenty in that budget.  $17 for chicken pad Thai and chicken fried rice lunch combos.

Nadda! I'm trying to reform my Target shopping ways, and thus far, cold turkey has been the only way to be successful. You go in for hydrogen peroxide, band aids, and hair color but come out with a pretty new pair of earrings, a cookie jar shaped like an owl and over-sized beach towels.

Husband bought $14 worth of gas for his motorcycle. We are starting to need groceries, but I'm holding out till the 1st, because I already went over our grocery budget this month...

Nothing, by a hair's breadth.  I went into Sierra Trading Post to pick up the cowboy boots I'd ordered, and spent about an hour perusing all the stuff, since it was all an extra 25% off.  Had a vest and two shirts in my hands ready to go to the cash register, then thought of MMM and put it all back, and left the store with just my order.

Thursday I worked, and then biked spent $0.  Tonight I am working, biking and babysitting.. I'll spend nothing. Tomorrow if it's nice I'm planning to bike again.  My goal is to make it til June 6th without spending money (except gas to get to work). We'll see.....  I have plenty of food to make in the house. I just have to be creative. (this could be fun)

Also waiting until June 1 to grocery shop, as I went way over budget this month too.

Reiki Session $ 75 > Reimbursable through work
Himalayan Pink Salt < $11

Loose leaf teas at tea shop > $11
Two tea mugs with diffuser > $28
Green Buddha > $14

Had a spendy day and we are on our way to a family fair where we will drop around $20.

All of the tea stuff is for my sister's bridal shower that is afternoon tea theme, the mugs are prizes, the loose tea is what we will be drinking and I bought the green Buddha for my office.

Three taxi rides and one train ticket to an out-of-town conference. More expensive than not going anywhere, but I want to celebrate my victory: I was gone 14 hours and didn't buy any food. I packed lunch, dinner, snacks, and my water bottle. Go me!

Your Reiki session is reimbursable through work? Awesome!

All we bought today was a jug of milk. However, it has been one of those days were if we didn't have some alcohol at home, that would be my next stop.

Gas and groceries.  Used a $10 off $50 coupon at the grocery store.  Used up some gift cards on dinner, paid $1.16 out of pocket for crappy food I coulda cooked better at home.

Bought nothing today.

I am totally out of food in my house, but I have overspent on groceries already this month.  So I am taking advantage of this opportunity to try a 36 hour fast.  I'm not having trouble doing it (after all, there is no food in my house to tempt me), but I sure am hungry!!

Looking forward to grocery shopping tomorrow morning!

Bought a 2006 Honda Odyssey (8-passenger--baby #6 is coming in Sept) with 96k miles for $9800 out the door.  $72 to fill the tank.

Then took the whole family to eat at Cici's Pizza.  Total cost for 7 people gorging themselves on pizza, salad, and cinnamon rolls: $26 and change.

Fourth-most-expensive day of our lives (two houses and our current minivan being the top three).

5,700w, or about $5.56 USD, on color copies. I wanted to present a nice boardgame to new private lesson students I'll be teaching tonight, but I didn't anticipate each colored page costing so much! grumblegrumblegrumble...

A laptop from the Lenovo Outlet sale currently going on. I've written before about my laptop from 2008 that I still use, and how old and slow it is... but it was still working, so this purchase definitely wasn't necessary. I use my laptop quite a bit, and I was just sick of it freezing when trying to play Youtube freezes or anything flash related. I'm ok with the purchase though. May my old Compaq laptop rest in peace.

Bunch of groceries, cat food, el cheapo four-pack of steak knives because I'm missing three and tired of using one that the dog chewed up the handle on ~4 years ago (really, she did), one outdoor fluorescent light fixture so my husband can continue with the siding in the area where it goes.

Was thinking of buying tomato cages until I got a look at them. Going to make them from hogwire instead, since that will hold up tomatoes and those flimsy plastic(!) things at the store will only help in the crushing of the plant when they collapse.
