I bought hotdog buns, an onion and beef bones. Total $5.43
You?
-
Groceries at Target.
2 lbs cheese
Loaf of wheat bread
loaf of hamburger buns
2 lbs flank steak
Chicken tenders
Assorted veggies
Diet soda
Tortillas
2 dozen eggs
$45.26, should last a few weeks.
-
4# cheese
6# onions
2 bell peppers
5 bananas
1# snack mix, so I stop buying it at work
1# pretzels, to cut snack mix and bring down cost
2# almonds to go in breakfast oatmeal
5 tomatoes
Comet all-purpose cleaner
drain cleaner
shampoo (giving up on the whole baking-soda-instead-of-shampoo thing... works great for short hair but I don't have that anymore)
total was like $50... should last a couple weeks, but that's what I say every week haha
also $500 of stocks, which was fun
tomorrow I'm going to pick up a mini washing machine for my apartment, that'll be another $150
-
I bought nothing.
Wife: "I bought nothing today."
Then: "Except a lunchbag online."
???
-
Gasoline. :(
-
I bought coffee and a scone. Total $4.50. It was planned because of having to scope out my new contract job location. Thought about it afterwards and thought that was dumb.
But, it will not happen again. I repeat it will not happen again.
-
A book for my friend's birthday - $8.50
Chocolate to mail to my friend - $1.05
-
End of Road Trip: A tank-and-a-half of gas. Brought our own snacks for the seven-hour drive. Stopped at the grocery store on the way home and bought ten dollars worth of groceries to make a Taco Fiesta for six. Ate at home during rush hour(s) and sent the last two on the final two-hour leg of their journey well rested and well fed. It's possible to do a road trip well without eating fast food.
-
Nothing today. A tank of gas tomorrow - then nothing until Saturday (grocery shopping day)....
-
Braces, soup, and ice cream.
My teeth hurt and I hate everything.
-
One head of lettuce, 88 cents.
I'm touchy about spending on the last day of the month since we do end-of-month payouts and like our numbers to add up nicely - it gived me a headache if there are credit card transactions that haven't posted by month end. That said, I really need my lettuce.
-
I returned some things!
And then I bought milk, kids' cough syrup and chest rub, sparkly nail polish that my daughter talked me into, and then a Hot Wheels car that my son wanted since his sister got something, sigh. Still came out ahead though.
-
Nothing!
Wanted groceries but held off. My goal was to keep the grocery budget under $180 for the month (for just me). I had $.59 left! Today (Oct 1) I will eat a few chick peas for breakfast while I wait for the grocery store to open!
-
I paid the registration fee for a career-related conference I'll be attending in a couple weeks: 40,000w (around $40 USD).
I dodged having to pay 5,000w on my prepaid cell phone because the woman I talked to at the phone store simply "extended" the minutes I currently have. I didn't know this was possible! Each month I get a text warning me that if I don't put more money on my card, everything will expire and I won't be able to make outgoing calls or texts. I had NO IDEA all of my money was simply still on the phone and extendable. Lesson learned. I hope I can continue to extend these minutes--current value 35,000w O___O
PS: Handling things like phone plans is significantly more challenging with a substantial language barrier. Take mercy on my silliness.
-
Haven't paid for anything so far today!
-
yesterday:
1 apple for 75 cents (forgot to bring fruit from home)
1 subway ride for $2.50
-
Nothing today
-
Just a tank of gas yesterday. $58. Oh, and some vegetables from the farm for $30.
-
Nothing :) I bought $20 of petrol yesterday but nothing else. I don't expect to spend money until about Saturday or Sunday at the earliest :)
(I am not normally this awesome, I've just got lots of family stuff on so they will be feeding me, so I don't need to buy groceries, and I already have food for my work lunches in the house. I won't be socialising with friends due to family stuff and I pay rent/bills monthly so they are all already paid.)
-
Yesterday I bought:
My monthly subway pass for $70 (will be tax free ultimately though)
A container of blue cheese for $3.29 for salad toppings
Today I'll likely end up getting lunch at work, since I didn't bring it in.
-
A Jotul wood stove. About $2K after rebates.
-
Yesterday I bought:
Shoe repair--$10
Foam mounting tape, conditioner, deodorant from Rite-Aid--$12.50
it was kind of an expensive day!
-
100 shares of IMG.TO (or IAG on the US markets I think). Oh, and two of REM.
Yesteday house insurance for my rental in Texas :)
-
Today? Nothing.
Yesterday:
Prescription medicine
3 12-packs soda
1 green pepper
1 red pepper
1 bag grapes
1 box quinoa
1 jar plum sauce
Probably a couple other things, but I can't remember
-
Only really automatic payments to pay credit cards in full, retirement contribution, and donation... Otherwise, nothing bought here on September 30th, just +$23 in my checking interest. Nothing today either, but I think the wifey plans on getting some gas in the car.
-
this morning was errand running. i got refills for our soda stream machine ($30) and then i went to the thrift store because i had a spidey sense that they were gonna have some stuff i could use there (i'm woefully low on tops and keep wearing the same ones over and over again, and they are getting pilly on me). $30 later i have 2 new sweaters, 2 new blouses, a black fall coat, a gray jacket, and a super cute red corduroy skirt. all set for fall/winter!
-
Thrift store for half-price kid's clothing day.
4 pairs of girls jeans
1 pair of girls khaki pants
1 pair of girls cotton pants
2 girls shirts
Total? $12
She will need no clothing until the Christmas extravaganza starts rolling in (mostly from grandmas).
-
Stocks… or more accurately I sold options to own stocks at lower prices.
-
$160 worth of groceries at Costco, including like 3 months' worth of steak. Omnomnom.
-
Yesterday:
A hydraulic jack
Two treated 4x4s
Two bags of Quickrete
A sheet of treated 4x8 plywood
Eight treated deck boards
A few concrete blocks (but we had quite a few already)
...and a Whopper Junior meal
All except the Whopper are part of an attempt to shore up the in-laws' house, where a water heater next to a load bearing wall leaked for far too long. The Whopper was fuel for the shoring project.
Today I bought gas, and I'm guessing my husband did, too; driving to the inlaws' place two days in a row will probably have required it.
The good news is that the shoring seems to have been effective and may prevent us from buying a house before we want to. Also the house did not fall on my husband.
-
Tuesdays are my weekly Rotary Club luncheons so that tacks on $15 to the weekly spending. I treat this as charity money though and not restaurants in my budget.
-
Last day on which I spent money was Friday. Today: nothing. I think tomorrow might be grocery shopping night, though.
-
Round trip fare on the DC metro system, which is too expensive. Maybe $6 RT.
-
I bought a sandwich last Friday. For the record, it was gross. Today, my mutual funds bought $300 more of themselves.
-
$35.74 on groceries: chard, onions, apples, potatoes, quinoa, oats, GF hot cereal (Bob's Red Mill), garlic, dry chick peas, and coffee beans. Since I am trying to lower my grocery bill and trying to lose weight, I have to move through a grocery store with blinders on, so that I don't see the gourmet chocolate bars, the chips, the cheese, the crackers, etc.
-
Pork sausage links 6.99
Honey ham 5.00
French sreak rolls 2.59
Bananas 1.33
Onion 0.47
Green peppers 1.76
King Soopers. Total 18.14
Figured i'd make sandwiches for lunch at work.
-
Today, nothing.
Yesterday I bought some yarn to knit up slippers for a Christmas gift.
-
Nothing. Yesterday...nothing. Monday, gas. Sunday, groceries ($92). Saturday, nothing.
I've been too tired to go out.
-
A round trip subway ride, $5.
An extremely fancy brunch in Williamsburg for myself and my friend who got furloughed in the government shutdown, $37.
Money well spent.
-
Not sure how comfortable I am posting specifics, but I guess it wouldn't hurt for a week or so.
Monday - nothing.
Tuesday - $170 rent
Wednesday - nothing.
Will report later on the rest of the week. We might go to the movies today, budget refills on Friday so that'll probably be grocery day. We'll see.
-
Today, nothing.
-
He bought a six-pack of beer today. I bought nothing, but I drank one of the beers.
-
Today I didn't buy anything :)
-
walked to store and spent 11.01: kosher salt, ginger root, 3# onions, fresh pita bread, ramen noodles, egg noodles.
-
I just want to say thank you to serpentstooth for making me smile. You bad clown, you. :)
-
Here's Thursday's totals.
$17.60 Sushi restaurant. Three sushi rolls and a plate of rice for the kids to share. Came out of restaurant budget.
$7 Reject Shop. $5 for a bag of M&Ms and $2 for four pack of small Snickers, came out of entertainment budget.
$7.75 Reject Shop (wife wanted to go too). $4.75 for candy came out of the entertainment budget, and $3 for shampoo (no budget for shampoo).
$39 Cinema, tickets for two kids and two adults, came out of entertainment budget.
$12.50 Cinema, Large popcorn and coke, came out of entertainment budget.
Trying not to make too many notes (ooooh bad me...or justify a frivilous expense, or whatever), but I do want to point out that we didn't eat all the candy in one sitting. We'll save the rest for another movie (if we didn't, it'd have to come out of the grocery budget or one of our misc. budgets).
-
- Bike tubes
- Front/rear bike lights (been using my Mum's, but need my own)
- CO2 canisters
- Second hand Cue dress ($3)
- New belt ($2) (I've lost weight yay)
-

$16-25 ticket for night bus to next town 8 hrs away (more expensive than day bus but saves on hotel)
$2.50 max budgeted for dinner
$20 single room at youth hostel
This isn't a typical week! I'm traveling for holiday/research in Xinjiang province, over a thousand miles from home. It's a pretty typical travel week though...
-
Today I bough $26 worth of food at TJs--bread, milk, eggs, hummus, wine, cheese, and mushrooms. Then came home and made delish homemade mushroom pizza!
-
$57.55 for one share of VYM. XD.
Yeah I am a real power investor!
-
$16 worth of circuit boards! Five new designs in the works.
-
Nothing yet, but heading to grocery store for soy milk and a couple other things. Also, this afternoon, my school's Agriculture Club is selling produce--yum.
-
hamburger buns. fancy pants ones from the day old store....i'm a rebel lol
-
a $3 cappuccino. I drove to the coffee store, too. Put me down for a double face punch.
Also, the registration renewal fee for my clown-car (6 yrs old, bought it used with cash - does that get me one get-out-of-face-punch free card? probably not, huh?)
-
I got my husband a pair of riding gloves $18 for his birthday.
And milk $4
-
I bought a new car battery. Sigh.
I also dished out my co-pay to the anesthesiologist for my forthcoming cataract surgery as well as the cost of the prescription drops needed beforehand.
This is what happens when you get old, people! (Although I am pretty young for a cataract patient. Double sigh...)
-
It was kind of an expensive day:
$22.94 for apples, sweet potatoes, quinoa, Bob's Red Mill cereal, and soy milk.
$14.22 for candy. Smarties for my students (ha!) and chocolate for a colleague who come in my office when she needs a chocolate fix. It does not tempt me (thank goodness!) and it helps promote good will in our department.
$100 in ice hockey dues for Oct - Dec. Playing hockey is good for my mental and physical health! Cheaper than therapy!
-

I do the same thing! I put it there when I started working as a way to be friendly to new coworkers, get to know them. My boss is always popping in when she's had a bad day and needs a chocolate fix. Had a stockpile of candy bought super cheap or free through couponing that I wanted out of the house to help my husband w/his diet. I may need to look into sales post-halloween though as I'm almost out.
-
Yeah, I have mixed feelings about promoting the consumption of food with zero nutrition, but somehow I think that if I had apples (instead of chocolate) available in my office, my co-worker would rarely stop in!
-
$124.96 on nerdy hobby. BUT I waited and saved up for it, and also it is the optimal time of year for ordering from this particular House of Nerdness. :)
I will be spending quite a bit (planned) this weekend as October is a quarterly bulk spending month in the budget. I think I'll actually post here about it to help keep a lid on that.
-
Luckily, my friend was going shopping and invited me to tag along :
gallon of milk,
gallon of OJ,
5 white onions,
4lb of tomatoes,
2+ lb of peaches,
2+ lb of pears,
2+ lb of apples,
a bag of romaine hearts,
pack of eggs (18),
french bread,
2 large packs of Post Honey bunches,
ramen noodles.
-
Doughnuts for my homeroom students to thank them for their help on some things. I'm not allowed to bring home baked treats for them anymore. New school policy. Grrrrrr!
-
Chick-fil-A -$9.47. Was at the park. It started raining. Ended up at Chick-fil-A to wait out rain & let the toddler burn some energy on their playset. Ended up buying lunch a little out of guilt and because we were there longer than anticipated.
-
A $4 transit ticket to ride back home (I was cold, tired, sick, and forgot my rain pants). Regretted every cent of that expenditure as I waited and waited for the train and then the bus and got even colder. I should have just ridden my bike back.
EDIT: add to that a $3.50 cup of chai at a coffee shop. Not feeling guilty about this one as I have completely eliminated coffee shop spending (which used to be embarrassingly high) and now only allow myself about one or two a month, and only if I'm meeting friends there, which was the case this time.
-
Yesterday: nothing.
Today, though. Today was totally unnecessary spending.
All of our black laser toner reprinting school-related materials currently locked in a classroom (academic tournament during fall break, and my husband is both the coach and the forgetter-of-materials-in-classroom). That means we'll have to buy toner at some point.
Then $14 to make copies-I got originals done before the toner ran out, which is good since printing costs more than copying at the shop). $8 or so on office supplies which were already purchased and are locked guess where.
Pizza for the kids (and us, too) after practice and before leaving for the tournament. $15 for three; like that Little Caesars.
$14 for an ipad charger for the vehicle because the two school-owned iPads are our timers for the events. Guess where his charger is? Happily, we will get much use out of a car charger, which we didn't own.
$3.50 for a frozen dinner for me (I don't have to go until tomorrow), and a dollar for candy because there was no one around to witness me eating it and therefore it had no calories. :-)
I'm not actually at all upset with my husband for forgetting the materials, by the way, though I know it must sound that way. Stuff happens to everyone. I'm just disgusted with the spending in a non-blaming sort of way.
Oh, and there was fuel expended in the associated running around. Also he'll eat fast food on the way home, and feed any kids who forgot their money because, you know, you can't just let them starve and all that.
-
Yet another small chocolate shake from Braum's ($2.05). I've had nothing but soup, applesauce, and smoothies at home since Monday, so blowing two bucks on a tasty treat didn't feel too bad.
Tomorrow I've got to fill up my car with gas. Likely around $35.
-
My husband and I go out once a week for a meal and we went out for dinner today. I treated him to pho/spring rolls for $25.00 for the two of us. :)
(Pre-MMM we went our for 2 meals a week.)
-
Doughnuts for my homeroom students to thank them for their help on some things. I'm not allowed to bring home baked treats for them anymore. New school policy. Grrrrrr!
I HATE all the god damn school policies. As a teacher I feel handcuffed more and more, and our students are getting less and less of the REAL experience of life (likely because some ass decided to sue for a stupid reason to get money). Ugh. This is a perfect example of such policies.
-
$40 on groceries, ack! Much more than I usually spend, but the wife came with me so we stocked up.. kinda.
- $8 on fruit and nut mix
- $3 on raspberries (on sale)
- $4 on milk
- $3 on OJ (on sale)
On the plus side, I got the $40 from helping my FIL to take stuff from his rental property to the dump, so effectively free! Kinda.
-
Small iced coffee but got a large b/c kiosk was experiencing supply and technical issues. Kept me awake for a seminar.
Bagel for lunch because I forgot to grab a can of soup on my way out of the house this morning :(
Then I invited some friends over for DIY sushi night and cocktail drinks! It was awesome!
-
Did not buy anything yesterday. :)
-
Nothing yesterday.
Nothings today--so far. I might buy some tofu this afternoon.
-
spent lots of money today
2 new pairs of shoes for kid
birthday presents for kid: solar system puzzle and a Thomas the Train toy, partly with a gift card
groceries
my cousin's baby shower gift: diapers
Paid $1 to top up car tires with air. I can't find any gas stations with free air any more.
-
Two gallons of raw milk, a quart of yogurt, and two pounds of honey, clover and buckwheat. $42.
Light bulbs, torx screwdriver set. $15.
Celery. $2.
Platinumtel phone top-up. $10.
Kind of a spendy day for me.
-
Tofu, tempeh, and ginger. $8.81. I have spent $80.49 on groceries so far this month. Better slow down if I am going to keep it under my goal of $170!
-
Revving this because I think it's both interesting and useful for those of us who post.
Yesterday we bought a thermostat for the Jeep and a tube of RTV to help n stall it. Got home and found nearly a half tube of RTV. Sigh. The upside is that it will get used, assuming it doesn't get lost on the shelves of building supplies, which is where the other one was.
-
25€ worth of groceries.
- bread
- 2 liters of milk
- 1kg spinach
- 3 peppers
- several tomatoes
- 3 cans of tuna
- 500g of feta
- lettuce
- 450g marmalade (wife has a sweet tooth)
- 500g honey (dito).
(NEVER would you have spent DM 50 on so little food... But no, we don't have inflation, do we, Mr. Draghi?)
And then a christmas gift for my wife: original austrian army sweater, 39€. It's heavy, it's warm, scratchy (100% wool!) and it will hopefully stop her freezing. And it's in lovely olive green, such a wonderful colour!
Spending money causes physical pain to me, she will surely appreciate it. Hope I got the size right...
-
Braces, soup, and ice cream.
My teeth hurt and I hate everything.
This post made me laugh!
-
Yesterday: one bathtub drain assembly, one box of 500 galvanized nails, turkey smoked sausage, beer, 4 various (store brand) 2-liter sodas for a gathering.
Today: I was in the middle of typing "nothing" when my husband came in. Looks like we're going to have to make a run for hose clamps, unless possibly some turn up in a search of the barn.
-
Yesterday: one bathtub drain assembly, one box of 500 galvanized nails, turkey smoked sausage, beer, 4 various (store brand) 2-liter sodas for a gathering.
This is the manliest shopping list that has ever been written.
-
Yay! I started this thread :D
Maybe this will keep me accountable and stop me from purchasing beads online. *crosses fingers and toes*

Written by a woman, too! :-)
-
Update on yesterday. Hose clamps turned up in the barn, so no need to buy there, but I did end up buying a thermostat housing, a toilet float (oh, my glamorous life!), a threaded rod, a bag of tortilla chips, and some dishwasher rinse aid (store brand at the dollar store, of course, same as the chips).
The good news is that both the vehicle and the toilet are once again functioning.
-
$12.04 for a xylophone for my nephew for christmas.
$11.90 for doggie day camp.
-
Been a while, but I think this thread is useful.
Yesterday we bought groceries, dog food, and a radiator hose.
Today we will buy a gift card for my MIL's birthday, fuel to go to an overpriced restaurant a hundred miles away, and food at said overpriced restaurant. I don't begrudge the gift or the fuel, but the stupid restaurant is a different story. She'd better love it.
-
Yesterday was a somewhat spendy day:
Grocery shopping trip: $27 at one store and $45 at the other store.
1 yard of gravel mulch for the front yard landscaping project: $54
Came home and DH wanted to go out for lunch - I didn't see the tab, but probably $18
Restaurant was right by the feed store, so I decided I might as well stock up on chicken feed, so another $38
Then after a hard day of landscaping, we popped out to the store for the junk food I didn't buy on the regular grocery trip: Chips, beer, ice cream - another $18ish?
Spent some time looking at plants online and added some to my cart, but didn't buy. Still considering that one.
-
Rural - What restaurant? We recently (and begrudgingly as well) went to The Melting Pot for a friend's birthday but fortunately it was only 5 miles from the house, and the four of us carpooled.
This morning, I got 24 hours of overtime and stopped by Wawa to grab a cup of liquid crack. Other than that, food will come out of my lunch box and when my GF comes to have dinner with me!
-
Did not buy anything yesterday or today. Did not take car out of garage. Did not buy anything online, despite temptations.
-

It was what turned out to be very good Italian, but not a chain, I don't think. The food was great, but it was far too loud, too expensive, and too crowded.
-
160$ for two nights at the Marriott in Vegas.
-
Nothing all weekend! Happy dance.
-
Shopping spree day.
I got some soil to start vegetable and flower seeds. (Yes I have dirt in my garden but uncontaminatrd and fertile are great)
I got a tractor supply gift card for early Mother's Day for my mom... So she can buy food for the cat I gave her for Christmas.
I got flea and tick meds for my cat
Spray enamel for some free metal baskets and stools I'm refurbishing
And a Cadbury cream egg for a treat!
-
4 x magnifying glass
4x pkg crayons
2 x pkg Felts
4 x books of tracing paper
box of laminate ID Badges
2 x ink pads
1 bag of cotton balls
3 x rolls of clear packing tape
1 x incandescent light bulb
5 x glue sticks...
All reimbursed as I am teaching an "ART DETECTIVE" Kids Spring break camp this upcoming week :)
-
An overnight sleeper train from Vienna to Zurich for my summer vacation ($120), accommodation in Vienna for a few days ($70), and a bottle of root beer ($2).
-
A delicious sub, cookie and drink from a new sub shop in town. $10.50.
I have my abode up for sale so I am resolving to bring less shit into it.
-
asparagus, coffee, canned sardines, and four tickets to Disneyland.
Guess which one was the most expensive?
-
I cut the cable in a very literal sense while rototilling yesterday (we asked them to bury it deeper, but there it is, 2" below the sod), so spent about $9 on coax connector parts to get it running again. Of course it was Walking Dead finale night; ironically, DH said he would consider getting rid of cable when this season finished up. Guess I was just trying to speed the process along.
-
Too much in Vegas while gambling... :(
-
Bought nothing today. And found a nickel while biking to the ice rink to watch friends play hockey. So I'm up 5 cents today!!
-
Wasp spray, toilet paper, and a car freon refill kit. Glamorous, my life.
-
36$ worth of groceries. mostly for dinner and our take along lunch for tomorrow. we are going to C2E2 (comic convention) and want to bring our own food.
-
A spend free day for me!
-
Wasp spray, toilet paper, and a car freon refill kit. Glamorous, my life.
Whatever you have planned this weekend, you can count me out.
Yesterday: Yard of bark mulch, pavers, landscaping timbers and lag bolts. I too, lead a glamorous life.
-
Took my gf out after work to this ice cream shop.
I got a burger and malt. She got fries and a sundae.
$11. I don't do it often so it was alright.
-
Wasp spray, toilet paper, and a car freon refill kit. Glamorous, my life.
Whatever you have planned this weekend, you can count me out.
Heh. Each item was used separately, for its designated purpose, not in conjunction with the others. The wasp spray is pretty exciting, actually, as it was needed to clear the way to put more siding on the house. The freon is relatively exciting, too, or will be when I drive home from work tomorrow. Hopefully the toilet paper usage will be routine rather than exciting... :-)
Yesterday: Yard of bark mulch, pavers, landscaping timbers and lag bolts. I too, lead a glamorous life.
Sounds like fun, though.
-
Spent $4.72 on the motorcycle. Brake lever pad replacement and a turn signal bulb...
-
Big purchase today - finally bought a saddle. Luckily it's used but in excellent condition, for WAY less than a new one. And the seller is holding it for me until my Chase Sapphire Preferred card arrives - so I'll be able to make the $3K spend requirement to get the $400 cash back sign-up bonus.
April is turning out to be an expensive month. Going to try hard to ratchet the spending back in May.
-
Nothing. Shops are closed on Sundays. As usual did grocery shopping for the next 2-3 days yesterday.
-
Nothing. Should have done the grocery shopping, but I got busy here and then got tired and didn't go anywhere. We're not going to starve any time this month or next if I don't get to the store.
Likely I'll do it on Tuesday, since it looks like we'll be out of milk and peanuts by then.
-
Nada, zilch. Didn't leave the house. Don't want anything. Don't need anything.
-
Went to a yard sale yesterday and a bought an Eddie Bauer wooden high chair for $10 (wife is pregnant), great condition just need to sanitize it. Brand new it would be $140. Today I did not buy anything.
-
Nothing, but I bought gas yesterday.
-
Nothing yet, but I will buy gas later on. Also frozen tater tots, the splurge of the day.
Yesterday was fencing and fence posts, not for us, but for in-laws. Oh, and I'm buying them a pet door, too. They can't afford anything, in worse shape than I really realized. If I don't buy them a grocery gift card today, it'll happen in the next couple of days when I get to the big grocery store.
-
1 tank of gas - 12 gallons for $40. Brought my lunch!
-
A bike!!!! It's my birthday, and I requested a no-gift deal with my husband this year since I wanted to get one. I've been saving my pennies to finally buy a bike so I can start commuting to work and go for family rides. It wasn't used, but I've been watching Craigslist off and on for the last 6 months and nothing much showing up.
-
Unexpectedly, I bought 25 pounds of Vidalia onions, rather my husband did, for a fundraiser at school. I am actuallyquite pleased about it; I knew they were selling onions, but thye hadn't said it was Vidalia onions this year. They've always specified in the past. I've been wondering where I was going to get my onions for the year. Now I have about half of them :-)
-
No spend day, here. I have a head cold and that could be viewed as a good thing! haha
-
Nothing today, but yesterday I had to go fix sprinklers at our old house, so sprinkler heads and parts, for one.
I've also dropped a chunk of change this weekend taking advantage of memorial day sales for horse equipment that I've been planning to buy, and which rarely goes on sale. So: pair of nicer breeches to wear to clinics/schooling shows, 2 saddle pads for a crafty experiment, riding gloves, 5 hoof rasps (should last at least two years), cowboy boots, and 5 pairs of boot socks.
-
Working on the windows -- bought primer and glazing compound.
Also is grocery day -- but didn't buy much since we're moving soon. Just some things to flesh out meals made from the freezer.
-
Ordered drum rollers for our old dryer.
-
Bifocal safety glasses for work, $13. I'll drop by the front office tomorrow and get my money refunded out of petty cash, so my purchase today cost me nothing.
However, I screwed up by using my Lowe's card to get the 5% discount and save the company some money. If I'd have used my Amazon rewards card I would have earned 13 cents profit from my purchase (1% reward). Oh well, maybe next time I will be thinking more clearly.
-
10 40 pound bags of topsoil, a gallon of deck sealer, a watering can and lawn bags from Home Depot $45.
Thai food lunch. We barely eat out nowadays, so there is still plenty in that budget. $17 for chicken pad Thai and chicken fried rice lunch combos.
-
Beer, dog food, tortilla chips, masking tape, and sugar free chocolate. You know, life's staples.

Beer, dog food, tortilla chips, masking tape, and sugar free chocolate. You know, life's staples.
...thinking of how those could be combined...known to some as the "checkout line game"

Nadda! I'm trying to reform my Target shopping ways, and thus far, cold turkey has been the only way to be successful. You go in for hydrogen peroxide, band aids, and hair color but come out with a pretty new pair of earrings, a cookie jar shaped like an owl and over-sized beach towels.
Husband bought $14 worth of gas for his motorcycle. We are starting to need groceries, but I'm holding out till the 1st, because I already went over our grocery budget this month...
-
A $2 bar of chocolate :-)

Nothing! Yay!!!

Nothing, by a hair's breadth. I went into Sierra Trading Post to pick up the cowboy boots I'd ordered, and spent about an hour perusing all the stuff, since it was all an extra 25% off. Had a vest and two shirts in my hands ready to go to the cash register, then thought of MMM and put it all back, and left the store with just my order.
-
Great job, horsepoor!
-
Toilet paper and antacid. My glamorous life.
-
I bought a Kindle copy of "Buddhist Bootcamp" for $7.23 at another Mustachian's recommendation. That will be the only money I spend today.

Thursday I worked, and then biked spent $0. Tonight I am working, biking and babysitting.. I'll spend nothing. Tomorrow if it's nice I'm planning to bike again. My goal is to make it til June 6th without spending money (except gas to get to work). We'll see..... I have plenty of food to make in the house. I just have to be creative. (this could be fun)
-
Potatoes, ice cream, cat food, glazing compound and paint.
-
$100 worth of tackle.
-
Nothing, but I am waiting for my purchase from two days ago to be delivered: my Republic wireless phone. Then I can ditch my expensive plan!
Also waiting until June 1 to grocery shop, as I went way over budget this month too.

Reiki Session $ 75 > Reimbursable through work

Loose leaf teas at tea shop > $11
Two tea mugs with diffuser > $28
Green Buddha > $14
Had a spendy day and we are on our way to a family fair where we will drop around $20.

Three taxi rides and one train ticket to an out-of-town conference. More expensive than not going anywhere, but I want to celebrate my victory: I was gone 14 hours and didn't buy any food. I packed lunch, dinner, snacks, and my water bottle. Go me!
-
Train tickets worth about 65$ to go hiking in the Alps plus ca 10 $ for some extra food to take with me. Was a great day, totally worth it. :)
-
Reiki Session $ 75 > Reimbursable through work
Your Reiki session is reimbursable through work? Awesome!
All we bought today was a jug of milk. However, it has been one of those days were if we didn't have some alcohol at home, that would be my next stop.
-
2 sagebrush plants, 3 cans of tent waterproofing spray, a bag of charcoal, some groceries, gas, lumber, pavers, bolts, an oil change, and 2 bales of straw.
-
Gas and groceries. Used a $10 off $50 coupon at the grocery store. Used up some gift cards on dinner, paid $1.16 out of pocket for crappy food I coulda cooked better at home.
-
Bought nothing today.
I am totally out of food in my house, but I have overspent on groceries already this month. So I am taking advantage of this opportunity to try a 36 hour fast. I'm not having trouble doing it (after all, there is no food in my house to tempt me), but I sure am hungry!!
Looking forward to grocery shopping tomorrow morning!
-
Bought a 2006 Honda Odyssey (8-passenger--baby #6 is coming in Sept) with 96k miles for $9800 out the door. $72 to fill the tank.
Then took the whole family to eat at Cici's Pizza. Total cost for 7 people gorging themselves on pizza, salad, and cinnamon rolls: $26 and change.
Fourth-most-expensive day of our lives (two houses and our current minivan being the top three).
-
Sent husband to the grocery store for meat for the week --- he came home with just the meat. If I had gone, I probably would have spent another 50 bucks!
-
5,700w, or about $5.56 USD, on color copies. I wanted to present a nice boardgame to new private lesson students I'll be teaching tonight, but I didn't anticipate each colored page costing so much! grumblegrumblegrumble...
-
Pork ribs, about $5.50, 30% off regular price. I'm keeping track of all my expenditures this month, and this was purchase #1.
-
A laptop from the Lenovo Outlet sale currently going on. I've written before about my laptop from 2008 that I still use, and how old and slow it is... but it was still working, so this purchase definitely wasn't necessary. I use my laptop quite a bit, and I was just sick of it freezing when trying to play Youtube freezes or anything flash related. I'm ok with the purchase though. May my old Compaq laptop rest in peace.
-
Bunch of groceries, cat food, el cheapo four-pack of steak knives because I'm missing three and tired of using one that the dog chewed up the handle on ~4 years ago (really, she did), one outdoor fluorescent light fixture so my husband can continue with the siding in the area where it goes.
Was thinking of buying tomato cages until I got a look at them. Going to make them from hogwire instead, since that will hold up tomatoes and those flimsy plastic(!) things at the store will only help in the crushing of the plant when they collapse.
-
Not a goddamn thing. That's how I like it.
-
Sent in a cheque for a school field trip. And the pre-arranged lunch while they're out.
-
Produce for the week:
12 bananas
2 lbs of greens
1.5 lbs of shallots
Total: $17.39
-
Spent nothing today but posting because I think this is a great topic and should be bumped.
-
Thanks for the bump! Spent nothing yet today but have a planned trip to Walmart tonite .. With a LIST! Goal is to only buy what is on the list! :-)
-
Dammit I was all ready to congratulate myself on not spending anything today, then I remembered that I bought a pair of jeans on EBay. Being able to shop via smart phone is just too easy. At least it was a planned purchase for about half of what the Same pair cost at the store. Hopefully I can do a no spend tomorrow.
-
coffee, a loaf of bread and a new valve cover gasket for my Dodge Neon
Frank
-
Sunday was super spendy.. So I will post that.
Morning- torx bits for $6 to finish fixing dishwasher. New door handle for son's bedroom door $20. (Old one broke)
Church donation. ...
Cookie fundraiser $3
Afternoon:
New shoes and socks for son $150. Oh my goodness!
Planned spending as he is down to wearing out old winter boots. We usually get runners from the second hand store, but he is in grade 7 now and wanted fancy shoes and used the money from his paper route. I bought, he will repay.
I haven't spent $150 on shoes for me on years and years. It was weird.
-
$0.25 box of Mike & Ikes. :)
-
I'm glad I'm posting today and not yesterday. Yesterday was um, very non mustachian.
Today I reduced the balance on my bus card by about $5 by catching the bus to and from work. I bought a packet of lollies $3 on the way in to work because I forgot to replenish my handbag stash last night (this is a medical need, not a want). I also bought a packet of sugar free gum, $2.30. Definitely a want, not a need.
Then I bought some hot chips on the way home ($3) because my willpower is not great after an intense tiring day at work. I also spent $8 on strawberries, bananas and (relatively cheap) tomatoes.
-
craigslist: baby swing/rocker combo ($80)
bike store: inner tubes ($8/ea), phone mount ($30)
target: bagels, cream cheese, granola bars ($12 total)
work cafeteria: mac & cheese ($1)
-
I love this thread and this is the first time I've seen it.
Hopefully the only purchase of the day is the trip I just made to get ramen to eat until Monday when I can finally get in for a root canal. :-/ Also got candy corn for the glass pumpkin we just inherited from the inlaws to sit on the dining room table. I've always wanted a pumpkin like this but couldn't justify buying one to sit on the table for 3 weeks out of the year. So both mustachian and not on that one...
-
Was out of two makeup items that I don't buy very often (maybe once a year -- don't wear makeup regularly, just special occasions and date nights). And lucked into the last day of a "gift with purchase" freebie! A little makeup bag with full sized samples etc! Wahoo!
-
$3,000 in VTSMX just went through today :)
-
Bought nothing today. :)
-
Monday: nothing
Tuesday: nothing
Today: Spinach, bananas, oranges, turnips, apples, potatoes, canned pineapple, and pasta sauce.
Tomorrow I'll have to buy gas to get home from work.
-
salad and drink at subway . 7 dollars. and a 25 dollar copay at the chiropractor.
-
$3.40 on a capuccino between meetings off-site (normally I drink free instant coffee at my desk). At least it was a nice one and helped me get through to a late lunch.
-
A tank of gas and a few groceries at Costco. No impulse items, just food from the list. The tank of gas was only $3.259/gallon which is a rockin' price here in NorCal, and the last tank lasted about a month. Sweet.
-
Breakfast burrito that was big enough to be my breakfast and lunch for $2.99.
About $40 at WinCo for a loaf of bread, 7 cans of beans, 15 cans of olive oil packed tuna, lettuce, green onions and some whipping cream.
-
Bought new sneakers for kids for Christmas presents.
Bought 2 essential oils for daughters boyfriend for Christmas -- he has a nebulizer for them. They were 20% off if you bought 3, so I bought one for my own nebulizer since I was almost out. Also, had accumulated enough points to get a free roll-on essential oil perfume. Will gift to someone at Christmas.
-
Chicken for 50% off!! Stocking the freezer
-
Nothing!
Yesterday I bought a "new" hair straightener to replace mine that stopped working. $3 at a thrift store.
-
2 pumpkins
2 Halloween costumes
At the store with costumes
Small son: I want to be a monster!
Me: Here is a Sully costume from Monsters.
Small son: I don't want Sully. I want Mikey!
Me: They don't have Mikey.
Small son: I only want Mikey! (Tantrum leave store)
Three hours later, after nap.
Me: I found a Mikey costume on Amazon. If you want this I'll get it.
Small son: No, mom. Sully is my favorite monster. I want Sully. (Stated in a way that makes it seem like I am an idiot for suggesting a Mikey costume)
Ugh!
