6 mos ago my mother sold her house, in Curtice (Ottawa county, Genoa school system), to a couple in which the wife worked in Findlay, The husband, I'm not not exactly sure where, but it was an equal distance in the oopposite direction. That made the home they bought, in the middle.
Perrysburg is good, My daughter just bought a place in Monclova township, that seems good too.
Rt 2 and Rt 51 have good and bad sections, but easy access to 75, 475, 23.
I think you have to decide if you want a more rural, suburban, or urban area. And if you think you will ever have kids, schools may be important to you too. I have an opinion on that if you do.
This is JUST MY OPINION, but I'd stay away form the north and east parts of Toledo. East suburbs, when you get out of Toledo are fine.
It is also my opinion that if you want to get out of Toledo, try some of the counties around Lucas. I only have personal experience with Wood and Ottawa.
