2000 Sienna, but only for kid-hauling and errands. I much prefer my Trek FX. Can't wait for goblins to get big enough to ride more!

06 Scion xB.  Just got my second tank of gas in it, since trading a car with payments for this one, free and clear.  33.4 MPG in that first span of miles.  Feeling good after a while of 21 MPG!  (Thanks also go to hypermiling, which I've since incorporated)

2010 Ford Focus base model with stick shift. I mostly ride my Fuji hybrid, but had to do a 440 mile round trip over the weekend for a meeting. I used between half and three fourths of a tank.

2010 Prius.  My husband drives a lot for work so the Prius was an obvious choice once we did the math.  We considered going for an older Prius, but the newer car with lower mile worked out to be roughly the same "price per available mile" (a comparison criteria I used based on the assumption that we would probably be able to drive the car ~ 200,000) as the older ones we were finding in our area (due mostly to a glut of 2010s coming off lease and onto the used market), and it would give us lots of almost-guaranteed trouble-free miles below 100,000 where we won't have to worry about maintenance costs.  Our Prius happens to have one of the upgraded trim levels, but it wasn't something we were looking for- we just went for the best deal we could find based on the price-per-available-mile criteria.

2009 Honda Civic sedan - paid for 2 years ago.  I bought it new before I found MMM.   My husband has a Hyundai.  We decided that when we retire, we'll obviously go down to one car.  If neither of the current ones is around anymore, we'll buy used.  We both tend to hang onto cars until they won't go no more.

2000 Honda Insight - 71.2 mpg averaged over ~10 years/120K miles.  Paid $8500, collected $7500 from the insurance of the guy that rear-ended me in '06  or '07 and supposedly totaled it, spent about $500 on repairs.

'88 Toyota pickup (4WD) for hauling & driving on rough dirt roads.  Paid $2800, minus the $1100 I got from selling the '84 that wouldn't pass smog.

2006 Toyota Matrix
2009 Honda Civic

I so want a Sienna.  Or a Mazda 5.  I just can't justify it.  Our cars run fine.  We carpool daily with the neighbors, so the Matrix ends up with me + 4 kids in it daily for about 3 minutes.  Can't justify a minivan for that.

2009 BMW 328i manual. I know, I know...but in my current profession a "nice" car is basically a prerequisite due to client expectations. I DID put a lot of thought into the purchase, and if you're in a situation with needs similar to mine it's a great choice: the N52 engine is basically the final iteration of the classic BMW normally aspirated straight-six, cast in magnesium for less weight. There's no direct injection or turbos to break, no hybrid batteries to die, just the smoothest and most reliable engine ever to be built by BMW - and if you switch the intake manifold for one from the X5 and flash the engine software, you can add another 42hp and get 1-2mpg more for ~$1500 if garage mechanic-ing is your thing. I get 34-36mpg highway at 80mph and roughly 21 around town - no complaints (company pays all my car expenses anyhow). Not unusual for these cars to go 250-300k miles without major repairs.

Fiat 500 2012, a blast to drive in the city, almost as easy to park as a Smart Car. Averaged 6.4 l per 100 km, or about 38 mpg for you in the USA, over a one-year period and 12,000 km of mostly city driving.

1999 Dodge Neon twin cam that I paid $350 for with new ties and alloy wheels. I rebuilt the engine and put new synchro cones in the manual transmission.. Repainted the front half of the car cus it had some cosmetic damage.. Looks like new literally! I have $1400 into it now. A week after I finished the rebuild a neighbour driving home drunk did a right turn through the hedge in front of our rental house.. Insurance paid me $1500... so the car was free..:)

Wife has a 2012 Chevvy Cruze we just bought for $12k with leather interior... That was my gift to her for letting me retire.. But it will have to last her 20 years..:)

F250 beater for pulling the horse trailer about 12 miles per week.. At 7mpg she better not be going any further..:), plus it comes in handy for hauling home trencher's and backhoes etc from the rental place if needed.

The Hartford gives us a good AARP rate for the insurance, better than Geico, Progressive or esurance..

2004 Ford Mustang convertible. Bought it one year old when I younger and (much) dumber with my money. Still have it because, well... I love the car, it's paid off, and I have had almost no maintenance issues with it. Just wish it got better gas mileage (I average about 21mpg).

2003 Dodge Grand Caravan with 342,000 km on it.  I bought it for $2,750 from  bus company that used it as a shuttle vehicle.  It was a fleet vehicle so every year it got rust checked and maintenance was perfect.

2000 F-250 for pulling the horse trailer

I just picked one of these up.  Bought it Honda certified for a great price.
I then turned around and sold my 370z private party and actually did really good on it.  The CR-Z was a great compromise for me.... very efficient, but also fun to drive.  I ended up liking it so much that it doesn't even feel like a compromise anymore. I don't miss my 370 at all.

99' Chevy prism with 35,000 miles on it (equivalent to a corolla with a chevy emblem, the engine literally stays toyota accross the top) My girlfriends mother is using it right not to get to the bus stop and back daily, we talked her into not leasing a brand new hybris camery for her 1 mile commute again and to work on her CC debt instead

97' suzuki sidekick 1.6L manual that I got for $60 (retitle fee) previous owner was going to pay someone to tow it to the junk yard because she lost the title and had a new CRV and she was happy i offered to take it and wouldn't accept any money from me. Some standard maintenance and a tune up, it's has been great for me.

2000 Audi A4 1.8T Quattro. Bought it in 2001 when it was turned in as a lease return with only 5k on the odometer and I got a great deal on it. Maybe not the first choice as a "mustacian" vehicle but it has long since been paid for and is still in excellent condition as it is generally parked in the garage. I average only about 5k-6k miles a year on it and plan on keeping it for many years to come.

2009 Toyota Sienna. Bought in 2010. 114k miles. Will be paid off in December.

2004 Honda CRV. Bought in 2013. 211k miles. Bought with cash.

1988 Dodge Dakota pick-up. Received in trade in 2006. 205k miles.

The truck is going to help us move, then it's being sold. When my teenager moves out in 2 years, he'll take the CRV with him, and it will not be replaced. So I've got 2 years to work on my biking habit. :)

What mpg do you get from the CRZ?  I used to have an '89 CRX and it would get about 38 mpg.  I'm just not convinced that they are doing any better.

Cars aren't really practical where I live, and when roads allow cars, I can ride my motorcycles, mostly my old BMW.  My driver when I need to haul stuff is an '81 Toyota 4WD pickup.
