What asset allocation is best for me?
« on: May 15, 2015, 04:20:55 PM »
Currently:
Vanguard Large Cap Index Fund (100% stocks) - 9,500
401(k) & Roth in Mid Cap Index Fund (100% stocks) - 17,000
Checking - 3,500

I'm in my mid 20's and I don't own a home. I have a stable job and have been promoted within the last 15 months. My monthly expenses are ~$1,400. I'd like to have the option to buy a house in the next 1-3 years. Should I reallocate?

Separate the money you're allocating towards retirement (probably 80-100% equities) from the money you want to save for buying a house (something less aggressive if you're certain you want a house on that timeline and want to put a lot down).

Wow, a phone plan for fifteen bucks!
