Glad you were able to take care of it a reasonable manner and that it worked out.
Although I think it's not good business to be paid for "explicitly X" and switch to "equivalent Y" without informing the customer. Even though it is "pretty much" the same, all it takes is a 3 minute phone call to give the customer a heads up. No big deal.
It's reasons like this that I don't trust people to work on my stuff, even when they are fully competent. If I say I want X, it's because I have reasons, and you may not be aware of my reasons.
