What amount do I count towards my FI amount?
« on: February 13, 2014, 09:20:23 PM »

Ok, basic question.
If let's say I need 27k a year to live off of for my basic needs then I would probably need a total mount of 690k invested (give or take). Now, since I'm 35 years old that 690k can't include 401k or other retirement accounts correct?

If I understand your question correctly, you can count 401K and other retirement accounts.  There are multiple ways to access the funds prior to "retirement" age.
