Post ads for Craigslist student instruments for sale.

Take 9 large donation bags to thrift store.  (Stop thinking about having a garage sale, and just declutter, already!)

Study for my exam, so I don't have to fail and pay a $100 rewrite fee.  (I am not wanting to write this final exam for my certificate at all, not sure why)

Figure out something to do with tomatoes about to rot in yard!!  Maybe just give away for friendship points as canned tomatoes are comparatively cheap.

If adventurous, make headboard for bed from an unused *new door in our shop.

Toss them in a bag in the freezer if you don't have time to deal with them.  Or dehydrate and freeze if you have a dehydrator.  Cook down to a paste and freeze in small containers.  Make Candied Tomatoes.  Or can up some salsa; canned tomatoes are cheap, but good salsa is not.

On my to-do list (off work this week):
Unload and stack hay.
Can another batch of salsa
Work on fall veggie garden clean-up, starting lettuces, etc.
Ride friend's horse, training session for my horse
Pick up a load of landscaping rock for my neverending incremental landscaping

If you don't have a dehydrator, put them on an oiled sheet pan, put them in the oven, and just turn on the oven LIGHT. There's just enough heat there to do the trick.

* Make banana-nut muffins to use up old bananas
* Clean out the fridge and reorganize as per instructions in Eat It Up! book about preventing food waste
* Walk to Little Free Library nearest local elementary school and donate three like-new board books that are duplicates to us -- decluttering and exercise in one!

Trip to Home Depot to buy wire mesh to cover an attic air vent that has been letting in mice and squirrels. Project requires a staple gun. I'm buying safety goggles at the same time :)

Okay,  sliced tomatoes (14 large picked yesterday) have been dehydrating for 24 hours...  more time needed.. cross fingers.

Headboard project on temporary hold (bought stain and wood) until exam finished this weekend, but CL responses starting to come in.

Meal plan for the week -- keeping in mind the Frugalwoods challenge, I want to spend as little as possible -- so I will be digging around in the deep freezers and the pantry to get a plan together for the week.

Checking out a local produce market to see if its cheaper than grocery store prices.

Making 8 loaves of bread and 75 buns for the freezer.

Getting more beans cooked in the InstantPot and then frozen in ziplocks for instant beans.

Making a few batches of cookies and muffins for the freezer for snacks for the kids and teens.

*I see that all of my Mustachian to-do's are related to food procurement; a big expense in our large family!

This may come to be my favorite thread -- I like things that help keep me on track, plus I love getting ideas from what others are doing. My list for today:

Continue organizing my craft room. Make a needle case to corral my knitting needles, using stuff I have on hand. Plan the pillows I'm going to make for my MIL for Mother's Day.
Make chocolate pudding from milk that is just beginning to go sour.
Make the menu for next week, using stuff I have on hand.
Do a load of laundry and hang in front of the fire.
Read my library book.
Do some mending.
Take the dogs for a hike.
Dinner from the freezer -- fajitas, refried beans and Spanish rice. Will probably make homemade chips to serve with homemade salsa for our game night.
Game night with hubby.

Finish doing a set of grant reviews so I can get my stipend.
Make a big pot of chicken soup so I have a better option than canned the next time I get sick (just recovering from something, and I'm finally well enough to realize how foul canned chicken noodle soup is).
Remember to pester husband this afternoon to recoup what he paid on behalf of other people for an event he organized today.

Put up a no trespassing sign on the house we're going to flip and make some gifts.

If I feel energetic I might work on our house flip website.

*Portion out the 5 lbs of ground beef I picked up last week into smaller bags and freeze.
*Make stuffed peppers.  Eat a couple.  Freeze the rest for future meals.
*Make and pressure can chicken broth.
*Process the on sale produce I picked up a couple of days ago and freeze.
*Make a crustless quiche with the older eggs in my fridge.  Portion and freeze that, too.

1. I am going to sit down and hammer out part of a school assignment. (I am working towards my BA in Business Management, adult back to schooler)
2. Balance my checkbook
3. Make a list for next years Christmas gifts expenditures so I can calculate a new savings plan for the holidays.

My day is pretty much done but:

Get up at 4, throw logs on fire, drive DH to airport.  Go back to bed!
Get up again, make coffee and a breakfast of eggs and leftovers
Go through kitchen and consolidate items, put things in jars, toss a few things we won't eat, set others aside for the chickens
Do lots of laundry and get clothes ready for my upcoming extended out of town work detail
Get a squash and leftover beef chili going in the Instant Pot
Take dog for a walk
More organizing, laundry and decluttering
Mess with fire and get it roaring again
Collect needed items to install shelving in a closet I'm converting for horse gear storage

Today? I rolled over all my spreadsheets, budgets and trackers to 2017.

I also helped mum and dad take down all their Christmas lights, trees and decorations.

On tap today is cleaning out the file cabinet and organizing my tax records for 2016.
I'm also sorting the apples we keep in a refrigerator in our garage -- transferring the ones to eat into the fridge in the house and turning the rest into applesauce. That will allow us to turn off the garage fridge. (We buy two boxes of apples from a local orchard in September and store them in the extra fridge at 32 degrees. By January the ones left are starting to get pretty wrinkly.) We only have 6 pints left of the applesauce I made this fall, so I'll be happy to get more on the shelf.
I'm also hoping to work a little on the pillows I'm making MIL.
Traditional New Year's dinner of ham (leftover from Christmas), black-eyed peas, greens and cornbread.

I don't start work back up again after the holidays until Thursday, so today I'm doing a little side-hustle translating work, cleaning the condo and making dinner/lunches for the week for me and my partner since he's at work, going through my bank accounts to make sure that everything has been paid for since we've been gone for two weeks, and then dropping the maximum 5,500$ for the 2017 year into my TFSA.

Busy-work basically, but in sweatpants.

Went grocery shopping at Aldi. Cupboard and fridge were looking bare. Finally got my internet set on autopay. The autopay doesn't save me money but I wont be getting a paper statement anymore. Although I'll be getting 2% cashback with my Double Cash card. Going to the library later with my fiancee to return some books.

*Make 5 loaves of whole wheat bread

*Complete health insurance reimbursement claim form

*Get kids sports gear in order for upcoming activities
so I have time to borrow from friends if needed instead of buying new at the last minute

*Assemble a large vegetable beef stew for dinner. Takes me about an hour of chopping!

(Took a screen shot of this so I can keep myself motivated for the rest of the day)

Updated Mint to finally reflect spouse's accounts, and assigned financial tasks for the week for both of us. Discussed the budget for tonight's outing in advance, hoping to minimize his overflowing generosity that increases exponentially with alcohol consumption! I love him and the impulse - but we need to make sure we're not spending money we don't have on other people!

Maybe if I type it here..

1)  Caulk the tile  (maintenance repair task I have put off since before christmas when I bought the caulk)
2)  Trim the grape vines and rewire the fence to tie them back up (changed fence last year, and never retied them)
3)  Try out DH's electric bike, a Luna Cycle fatbike now that he has reinstalled the upside down handle bars (don't ask)
4)  Play boardgame at kids' request
5) make kids do school work or housework..... both?

Since I retired at the start of the year my wife has been running our small business 7 days a week, 10+ hours a day.
So, I'm working to give her a day off. I have no expectation that she will relax on the couch, eating Bon Bons watching soaps. But, I wish she would.

I did it.

And then I did another load, so there's still/again laundry on the drying rack.

*sigh*

But at least I'm using the drying rack, right?  I put the load in the dryer for a few minutes first, because I prefer the feel of the clothes that way, and it gets out some of the wrinkles from my work pants and shirts.  (I do not iron.  Ever.)  Usually I can't be bothered then to transfer the clothes over to the drying rack to finish drying, but I'm trying to make the effort.  If I wanted to go a step further, I could sort out which clothes really need to go in the dryer first, and which could go straight onto the rack.

Prep for the week.  I'm making chili in the Instant Pot.

Tomorrow: try to book a few days at Mammoth for spring break.  Waiting till tomorrow because... we are signing our kid up for swim lessons.  Need to figure out what day of the week it is, so we can plan our vacation around it.  The way things are going, I'll put it off for so long, we won't even go.  Instant $600 savings!
