Hello!
What are your current Vanguard picks for a new Roth IRA account?
-
I just started up my first non-tax account a few months ago.
So far just going with VOO/VFINX

You could get yourself a copy of the Independent Advisor. I haven't had time to read it for this month yet; but it's a fine place to start for this sort of question.
-
Hard to go wrong with a Target Retirement Fund or VTSAX.

Hello!

The way you phrase it, it feels more like stock picking. It isn't the flavor of the month. If you are new to investing and just starting a roth you should invest in the total stock market index. You need $3k to invest in any Vanguard fund and with $5500 you cant diversify more than that anyway.
