Vanguard IRA question...
« on: February 05, 2016, 06:08:31 PM »
Newbie questions. At the end of the year I set up a Roth IRA for myself since we had enough for the max contribution and I wanted to jump start our savings for the new year. I am looking back at the account and I see it is actually in the Vanguard prime money market account, which I am pretty sure is not where is should be? But I am not sure how or even what to reinvest it in. I am 30, so not needing it to be ultra safe. Can give more info if needed for recommendation. Thanks!

You can put it in a target fund, if you don't want to have to look at it too often and just trust them to change your allocation as you get closer to retirement. You don't have to choose your retirement year, you can pick whatever. I personally chose the growth fund instead, but they're basically the same thing! Same expense ratio too, I think.

Thanks, I need a series like this. I managed to figure out how to change it and went ahead with it.
