Upgrading to Simplisafe Keep ADT hardware or toss?
« on: January 10, 2019, 09:19:14 AM »
We upgraded to simplisafe for our alarm system. Much cheaper than ADT and much better too. But should we keep the ADT keypad hardware or toss it? It's wired and in case a dumbkus buys our house, they will be able to convert back to ADT and spend more money.

I'd just leave it there, otherwise you'll have to patch & paint the wall it's on. Just make sure it & your monitoring service is turned off.

We've been using SimpliSafe for 2 years in 2 different houses & love it.

That was my thought but it’s really ugly. I know there’s a hole in the wall but I’m good at this it wouldn’t be hard to patch it and paint it and while it’s in the laundry room I just hate looking at the thing and reminding myself of how dumb that system was and I was for letting those thieves make off with my money. Is there really a chance people are going to want ADT in the future? And if so is it gonna be a wired system or wireless. We are not going to be selling this house for at least six years.
