Ultimate rewards Chase

Does anyone know if I cancel my CSP (with the intention of applying for a new one with the bonus after) will my existing Ultimate Rewards points stay with my account?

UR rewards are credited to specific credit cards. If you cancel the card, your points are gone. Do you have any other UR earning Chase card you could transfer the points to before cancelling?

Either spend your points or transfer them to another Chase card before you close your account.  Chase business cards earn UR points and don't have annual fees.

I do have a chase freedom, and I'm seeing that transfer option.  So potentially the order would be:

  • Transfer points to chase freedom card
  • Cancel CSP
  • Re-apply for CSP
  • Use and get new bonus from CSP
  • Transfer point back from chase freedom to CSP

Does that look right?

Yes, that would be the process.

Has it been 48 months since you earned the CSP bonus? If not, you're not eligible and it's all moot.
