UK Mustrachians- Costco UK
« on: August 26, 2014, 09:57:15 AM »
I see there is Costco in the UK.  When I lived in the US I bought a lot of household standards at Costco/Sam's Club.  Is it worth ordering from Costco UK?  Are prices/quality competitive with UK alternates such as the main supermarkets?

We'd probably have stuff delivered than visit the store as we live quite a long way from our nearest location, and the fuel used to visit may negate savings.

What is your experience?

We're about to move back to london, would love to see some reply to this.

All I've come across online was that there was a huge rat problem in chigwell costco.

Asda is walmart cheap there, but I'm not sure about bulk cheap!

Yes, Costco is great in the UK too. There are fewer stores, so I didn't go as frequently as I do now I live in the States, but prices are very good and discounts comparable with here. The main difference is that they have less organics and specialty items in the UK stores. I suspect this is because the customers tend to be business owners rather than general consumers - British homes have little storage space and are generally much smaller, so the average person just can't bulk buy. Definitely advise shopping there if you want a good deal, though. Also check out Aldi and Lidl.
