Travelling extensively whilst working remotely and homeschooling.
« on: September 15, 2021, 05:32:31 AM »
Since the pandemic started, my husband has been working remotely (this is now permanent and he is classed location independent) and I have been home schooling our two kids.
We are thinking that when/if things settle down with the pandemic, we could use this opportunity to travel a lot more. It is something that we have always wanted to do, but we have previously been constrained by school term times/limited vacation days from work.

I have been looking at monthly rentals on Airbnb and they seem a lot less expensive than weekly rentals. I was intending booking a holiday for one month to start with somewhere in Europe (we are in UK) to see how we got on and perhaps expand from there. We would consider investing in a digital-nomad visa if we wanted to stay in one country for a long time.

Has anyone done this before and is it something you would recommend? Were you able to keep up with your working/schooling schedule as well as enjoy your time away? Did you encounter any problems?
Thanks.

I'm curious about this too. We're in the USA but I've wanted to do something similar.

I hope you will be able to do it, Ender.
It's something that I've looked at before and just shelved the idea because it seemed too far fetched and unobtainable. Now it seems that it is within reach (with the exception of the pandemic, of course).
