Transferred IRA to Vanguard
« on: September 10, 2018, 07:00:43 AM »
So I just successfully transferred an IRA to Vanguard.  For those dragging their feet, it really wasn't hard although my original holder didn't require any specific forms.

Question (dumb) is can I buy anything?  We have VTSAX in our regular portfolio - can we do that or are there special IRA funds?  Do I need to do one of those target retirement funds?

Thanks and sorry for the dumb question.

I think some of the funds like VTSAX require a minimum amount to invest in. But otherwise, yeah, you can buy stocks, ETFs, bonds, mutual funds, etc.
