I started to lose my hair in my mid 30's. At the time it seemed awful but looking back 10 years down the road it was actually a blessing in disguise. I was a college athlete but had put on about 20 pounds since graduating. When my hair started to thin I focused on getting myself back in shape and dressing better to "compensate". I thought, there are some things I can't control - like going bald - and some things I can - like being in great shape and dressing well. I am much healthier now and look better than I did in my 30's (at least that's what my wife says).
If I didn't lose my hair I most likely would have followed the path I was on and been overweight and sloppy. Do I wish I had a full head of hair - definitely, but I learned a valuable lesson - control the things you can control and don't worry about the things you can't control.
