Title: Teaching Without Teaching Experience
Post by: BrooklineBiker on July 24, 2018, 04:37:17 PM
Hi all,
I'm interested in teaching an adult education class. This would be my first time teaching anything in a formal setting. I've been trying to draft a
cover letter to interest local adult education providers but most of the templates that I've seen are for experienced instructors. Does anyone have recommendations on how to pitch myself without formal teaching experience?

I would highlight any experience you have working in groups, or any experience you have leading or implementing a project. Think about any work you’ve done explaining something or tailoring your message to different audiences to help them understand it (speaking to the CEO of a large corporation is different to speaking to Human Resources, which is different than speaking to a college intern, etc.).
