Funny story.

When MMM and I used to share a rental duplex and then a rental house with a couple of other young engineering types, we used to be part of an organization called NUTS, dedicated to turning corporate event subsidization money into beer, pizza and other party paraphernalia.

No joke, we called wherever we lived, "The Nuthouse."

True story.

Toque.

+1.  I wish I had known you guys back then.

We had a living situation that became known as "the vortex" because we encouraged our friends to hang out and produce all many of tasty treats to share.  People got sucked in and seemingly never left, which was ok by us.  Ours was a world dominated by food and drink, with ongoing beer brewing, charcuterie, baking and slow-smoked BBQ experiments.  Most of our stuff was a self-build hodge-podge of equipment, like our smoker build from upcycled cinderblocks and two oversized terra-cotta pots with some ductwork.

I'd love to somehow get back to that, only with a better, more thought-out equipment. Shared-use culinary space.
