Title: Starting a blog question.
Post by: summitofcoin on August 03, 2015, 09:36:00 PM
Hi all,

I started a blog on July 13, 2015.  I have recently placed affiliate links from Amazon.com.  Do I need to file a sole-proprietorship or can I just leave the blog as individually owned?  Thanks for the help.  This is my first post, look forward to getting to know everyone.

Thanks,

Summit of Coin

You don't need a sole proprietorship at this point.

Thank you, at what point would you need to move it into a sole proprietorship?

I think that varies but starting a blog does not quickly translate into any form of significant revenue. Most take years and most don't make money at all. I'd start by producing some content before worrying about forming a business around it.

Nice looking site and a good quality feel to it.  Not sure if it will make money for you as it is a fairly crowded sector that you are entering, but best of luck with it.
