thanks, I don't know why I missed that in a search I did.  I'll be interested in hearing about your experience with Vanguard.

I just posted my experience as of today. Haven't bought anything yet, but I seem to have it all set up.

I researched this thoroughly this year.  Vanguard is a pain in the ass. No inbound rollovers allowed. Only mutual funds (not stocks/ETFs).  Huge 100 page application.

Schwab has been a piece of cake. 10 pages or so of docs. No fees. Accepts inbound rollover from corporate 401Ks. Fee free trading in Schwab ETFs - SCHB, SCHF lower expense ratios than Vanguard.

There's 100 pages in the PDF, but only 20 or so to send back, everything else is amendments.  Andrew Justin and I just did Vanguard this month, it was a piece of cake.  We were both commenting in the other thread how it's been a smooth and fast process.

Puzzling.  I rolled over my 401K to an IRA at Vanguard.  It was easy.  I also have a brokerage account there for stock.
