Health Care Co-op
« on: November 01, 2014, 06:26:58 AM »
My wife may be going part-time in about a month so she will be losing her health insurance benefits. I have been trying to figure out the best way to get her insured and ran across the Co-op idea. Here is one company that is offering it. http://thehealthcoop.com/ Has anyone had experience with this? They have a 20 year track record and are cheaper than what I am being quoted currently, however the concept is different so I wanted to get some opinions from this forum.

I don't have experience with co-ops. But make sure to compare with healthcare.gov since they have the best premiums for traditional private plans that qualify as minimum essential coverage under the law. I'm curious. Is the co-op plan listed on healthcare.gov in your area? Any plan that meets the minimum essential coverage requirements with a good price will want to be listed on healthcare.gov because they will get the most business there.
