Hi, my SIL in CA filed a claim on Monday due to her hours being reduced to part time, then just found out today (Sunday) that she's losing her job entirely.

Should she file a new claim today with the updated info? Or will EDD reject two claims from the same person? I'm assuming she won't be able to get through to speak to anyone today, but the filing period ends each Sunday, so I'd hate for her to miss a week of full benefits if she could possibly qualify for it.

I don’t believe they will need to file a new claim. The way the process works is they typically schedule a phone interview with you and have you fill out a weekly form. On the weekly fork is where you fill out if you worked any hours.

Great, thanks for the info.

Wow, a phone plan for fifteen bucks!
