Shopping for Car Insurance
« on: August 23, 2016, 07:46:09 AM »
How to fellow mustachians shop around for car insurance?  I still go to each insurers website and fill out their request for quote forms.  I was wondering if anyone had a more efficient way of inputting the information just once and getting a quote from all of the insurers.

No, I have not seen any products like LendingTree for insurance.  Once a year I shop around and see if I can do any better than where I am at.  We have a big family with lots of drivers and cars and so we have been with the same provider (Nationwide) for quite some time as they are about 40% less than anyone else has been able to be (even GEICO and Progressive.  I found that 15 minutes can cost me 60%).

We have had the best luck w/ groups.  For example, our current car insurance was offered via my grad school alumni group.  It's a few hundred bucks cheaper than what I could find on coverhound.
