I have an '06 Saturn Ion. The supercharged one. Paid for, has 86K miles.
Also have an '08 Dodge minivan, paid cash for it, has about 90K miles. Not getting rid of either one any time soon.

2002 Chevy Silverado, with tons of dings and dents, hasn't been washed since 2006, covered with "Ron Paul for President" stickers, and a camper top that doesn't match.  It's one ugly looking vehicle.  But it's really not a bad truck- has low mileage and runs great.  It's just UGLY.  Which is fine, because no self respecting thief will steal it.

I LOVE to drive it to the office (maybe once a week, because I work from home), because most of the cars there are late model "near luxury" BMWs, Mercedes, Lexi, and the like (you know, the kind of cars broke people with upper middle class professional incomes  love to drive)- the look of fear on their faces as I pull up next to their brand new, spotless $29k bottom of the line POS Mercedes CLA is just priceless.

Yeah, I'm evil...:)

I saw a Bentley in my little town this morning--it had just pulled to a stop outside one of our historic downtown hotels.  Wowser.  As I rode my bike past it, I spied a coin in the street.  I doubled back to pick it up--it was a penny.  Wonder what the driver of the Bentley thought.

2002 Hyundai Elantra, 98K miles.  I currently put fewer than 3K miles on it each year so it should last a good, long time.

1995 buick century 14, 500 miles.  Grandma literally drove it 700 miles a year. It works incredibly well in the NE snow as a bonus.

Me too!! I just bought my kid a 2006 scion xA from craigslist for $5000!! It only had 71,000 miles. I actually love driving it myself.  I'll drive it over my 2007 Honda Accord cuz it has better gas mileage.

2010 Dodge Avenger. 73k miles.  Bought for $14k with plus some expensive insurance I never used on 72-month financing in a non-Mustachian time.  It is now paid, but ended up costing me about $20k total.  Now to drive it into the ground!

2003 VW Jetta 1.8T

Other Info:
average (all in - insurance, repair, maintenance, fuel) ongoing cost presently $300 per month (3,600 per year is crazy - around 11% of annual spending!)
Being used approximately 7,000km per year now (now 50cents per km) - used to be more like 18,000km per year (195,000 km odometer)
I have written it off the books at ZERO and don't factor depreciation anymore.

A 1998 SL Saturn.  Bought it for $2200 cash.  It costs me $1200 a year to own/operate (gas, registration, tires, oil change, insurance, repairs).

I drive it so little that I go 2 years between oil changes.  I drive 1500 miles a year.  We have another car that we use for road trips, or driving to the airport.  My car is just for town.

A review online called it as exciting as low-fat vanilla yogurt.  Very true.

2006 KIA RIO5.

I am the second owner (I purchased it in Feb 2007 with 8000kms on it) and it has never given me a single problem. *** Knocks on Wood ***

I'll play :)  80+% travel is pedal-bike
the 20% is a 2000 corvette. yeah. Corvette.

Bought it cash with 130k on the clock. maintenance & repair is easy & cheap, and it has a big trunk :)
18mpg city, 30+ highway
It's so old (and I'm 36 with excellent record) that insurance is cheap too.

I'll be able to enjoy it for 10yrs and probably get what I paid for it

family ride (7 in the household) is a minivan. 22+mpg with a light foot.

try one, you might like it ;0

I had a '96 SL, bought it barely used and drove it for... let's see... around 10 years. Had 205K miles on it, was still running like a clock. At that point I had already gotten a newer '06 Ion and I didn't want to wait 5 years till my oldest kid could drive it, so I sold it. I still see it around town occasionally. Now I wish I had fixed it up and kept it. Oh well. Live and learn.

2008 Honda Fit with 80k miles.  It's super practical but also loud and very uncomfortable.  It's particularly bad lately because the winter has destroyed our roads here in Connecticut.  I'm trying with all my Mustachian might to resist selling it and buying a more comfy car, maybe an ex-rental Impala or Avalon sometime in the future.

2009 Fit sport with 80K here

I know there was a significant redesign for 2009 which made me not want to go older (more drivers leg room, more adjustable steering wheel position, headrest design especially for the back is much better). I say all that just bc I wonder how different overall comfort is between the two. I've been very surprised that on long (10 hour day) kind of trips my back hurst less in the fit than even luxury cars I've owned in the past. It is a bit loud at hwy speed but no obnoxious, just turn up the radio. I average b/t 37-40mpg in combined city/hwy driving.

1990 Toyota Camry - Station Wagon. KBB value of: too old. Thanks Grandmom! Less than 100,000 miles on it.

Jealous! I love the Camry station wagons :) Awesome that it's under 100k miles. Our 1999 Corolla is pushing 150k at this point.

Haha, lowfat vanilla yogurt!  That's about right.

Since my last post, we have received the salvage from DH's accident (USAA gave it to us for nothing!) and bought an engine-less LS1 for $300 off Craigslist.  We are going to combine all the useful parts of each one to create a working vehicle, and then sell it.  So at the moment, we have SIX Saturns!

Picked up an '88 Sentra 4-speed Standard for $400 a couple of weeks ago. $20 cap & rotor and she's purring.
Sold the 2000 Jeep Cherokee...well, later this afternoon actually. Snow is coming down and people were looking at me all crazy like as I brought my bike in, since I'll be selling the Jeep from my workplace. :-) Should be a fun ride home.

1997 LX450 (Toyota Landcruiser). Thought about selling it but then common sense prevailed and I decided 12 MPG was too good to give up.
