Sell broken cell phone?
« on: November 29, 2017, 10:42:26 AM »
The Moto G4 that I bought refurbished about a year ago died*.
The * is because it died in a way I've never heard of - the 'phone' part of it died.  It say's "no signal".  No calling, no texts and no data.  Everything else works, including WiFi.
I did a factory reset.  I took it to a repair shop - they did diagnostics for a cpl hrs and can't determine what the problem is.
It was on a Verizon MVNO, I got an AT&T SIM; same.
I bought a new phone (Moto E4).
Where can I sell the G4 and how much should I ask/get for it??

What you're explaining sounds like an old Moto bug, and not a broken phone. Sometimes (usually, but not always), you can take out the SIM, turn on airplane mode, reboot, turn off airplane mode, replace the SIM. Sometimes the SIM step is needed as a bookend, sometimes it works better just leaving it in and taking it out and putting it back in at the end, sometimes taking out the SIM at all is an unnecessary step. Doesn't matter if you've flashed or changed the firmware or done a reset, the problem won't disappear without the above mentioned steps. Occasionally, it takes more than one or two times of doing it to get it working again.
