Title: Sallie Mae Back
Post by: LeRainDrop on September 30, 2016, 04:18:18 AM
Friends, I share with you a kick-ass music video from rapper Dee-1, who celebrated finishing paying off his student loans with this catchy song called "Sallie Mae Back."  He's a former middle school math teacher and musician, who graduated from LSU in 2009.  Apparently this video went viral earlier in the year, but I completely missed it until now.  I think this song is pretty genius and hopefully can be a bit of inspiration for grads who are still plugging away with student loan payments.  Fair warning: you will probably be singing it in your head all day!  Does anyone want to share how they celebrated upon finishing paying Sallie Mae (or other student loans) back?

Interesting Washington Post article about Dee-1 (real name David Augustine Jr.) (https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/grade-point/wp/2016/02/19/rapper-dee-1s-sallie-mae-song-might-just-be-the-anthem-for-a-generation/)

For some reason I was expecting it to be to the tune of "Baby Got Back" :P That was awesome!
