A different country, but I went to the free seminars they had for people who were retiring. I learnt something at them, so they weren't a waste of time. The companies tend to put these seminars on so they stop having everyone ring them up when they're about to retire, and asking the same questions. It's probable that you know many more of the answers than everyone else at the seminar. It also gives you a chance to see all the information together, and ask your own questions. If nothing else, you can be gobsmacked about some of the questions and situations people are in.
