Resonable (Affordable) hotel for four at Las Vegas
« on: May 17, 2013, 12:59:41 PM »
My younger siblings are coming to visit me and I was torn betwwen taking them to Las Vegas (only the buffets and touring the city and free spots) and North CA(we all are tech geeks) and I decided since this is their first time, Las Vegas would be a better option?

Given that, is there a Mustaschian guide to choosing affordable hotel "tickets" for staying over the weekend?

Just need a place where four people can stay (if just to sleep for two nights and shower): nothing fancy as long as there are no bedbugs issue or leaking restrooms :-)

What would be a reasonable cost of accomodating the four of us in such a hotel for 2 nights and 3 days?

We don't have issues staying in the same room and are planing the trip sometime in middle of June.

It should easily be less than $150 (maybe 100 depending on how far you are okay with being from the strip).  Have you gone on any of the "Travel" sites to compare prices?
I am a former teacher who accumulated a bunch of real estate, retired at 29, spent some time traveling the world full time and am now settled with three kids.
If you want to know more about me, this Business Insider profile tells the story pretty well.

Right, I have been to these places:

... however noting that there was a MMM meet in LV recently, I wanted to tap into the community to locate what resources they used to land good deals

I like travelzoo.com for finding hotel deals and the LA times travel section usually has quite a few deals for Vegas. A couple years ago I drove out to Las Vegas for a few days and stayed at Vdara for $95/night (for two people). It was a perfect hotel for us because it didn't have a casino and was a few buildings behind the strip but we were just there to people watch, eat some food and see a couple shows (I think we also found 50% off for the shows at travelzoo or groupon).
