Replacement snow shovel scoops?

What do you guys do to replace worn out scoops on your (hand use) snow shovels?

I've got an a really good shovel (metal scoop) that I like a lot, but the blade is worn out now.  Not only does it seem like a waste to throw away the perfectly good handle (which is much heavier than the ones you find in the stores now), but you can't get a decent shovel around here anymore at all.  The big box and local hardware stores only stock those plastic ones now.  In this climate a plastic shovel in only good for one season before the blade is eaten up by the concrete.  A good metal shovel can last a decade.

Any good internet/mail order places I can hit up for what I'm looking for?

I feel your pain.  I have an old metal shovel, one of the support brackets broke.  Not it sort of angles when you push on it.  Not the end of the world, and it looks like an easy fix.  But otherwise it is fairly worn out and could stand to be replaced in the next few years.

I looked briefly at the beginning of the season for a new shovel and I couldn't find a metal one anywhere.  I would never buy a plastic shovel.

FWIW I've used a plastic shovel with no problems for about 10 years.  Get a plastic shovel with a metal strip along the front of it and you get the benefits of light weight plus it lasts for quite a while.  A decent plastic shovel costs a little under 20$ usually.
