Remote work ideas
« on: April 03, 2022, 09:45:00 AM »
I have a family friend looking for a entry level job that can be done 100% remotely that doesn't require being on a phone all the time (she's pursuing a career as a classical singer and talking on the phone all day isn't compatible with rehearsing/performing). Other desirables would be that it either have regular M-F daytime hours, or that she can work completely flexible hours. Other than that, she's open to pretty much anything. She's got experience working reception and record-keeping in medical offices.

Any suggestions for roles, industries, or specific companies to look into?

1. Medical coding
2. Data labeling (and there are some jobs in specialized areas, like audio, that she might be particularly good at because of her musical background, or in the medical field, because of her prior experience)
3. Might be necessary to build up some document processing skill (e.g. in Word, PowerPoint or Excel), but there can be relatively well-paid document specialist jobs at law firms, financial services firms, audit firms etc

Court reporter. Many jurisdictions now have humans transcribe legal-proceeding recordings when one of the parties requests a transcript. People can do this work form anywhere for one of the many companies that do this work.
