Hey all,
I currently have about 100k in equity in a home 13 miles North of Seattle. I'm going to be going back to school in August and then looking for a job in the tech field near the end of the year/early 2018. Estimated new salary will be 110k/year.
Seattle is getting gloomy, my commute downtown is 50 minutes each way, and with the way that housing is blowing up around here, I don't think it's reasonable for me to move closer to downtown without increasing my housing payment from 1,500/month to 3,200/month or something like that.
That said, we're thinking of relocating once I start looking for a new job. Any recommendations on cheap towns, preferably warmer, where I should be looking for work? California would be lovely.
