Money saving advice
« on: August 22, 2015, 11:28:05 PM »
I bought a phone for $1385 before even getting my first salary, I'm a teen as you all can probably tell, how do I get myself to save money instead of spend it?

I didn't think they made phones that expensive.. I heard some $500 something for iphones but wtf lol.

Get vanguard investment account opened. Retirement accounts if you can or just regular.
Use vanguard's automatic savings feature.
Calculate half of your take-home pay.
Set vanguard to invest that amount on each paycheck.
Never withdraw the investments until you're FIRE.
Profit.

Don't do that again.

One of my favorite Kriegsspiel posts, and that's saying a lot.
I am a former teacher who accumulated a bunch of real estate, retired at 29, spent some time traveling the world full time and am now settled with three kids.
If you want to know more about me, this Business Insider profile tells the story pretty well.
I (rarely) blog at AdventuringAlong.com. Check out the Now page to see what I'm up to currently.

Does it have diamonds in it and 3D print things you take pictures of?
