Hi,
I currently drive a 2004 Infiniti G35x (awd) with 165k miles. Due to having a long work commute I spend a lot on gas and parts. Working closer to home is not an option right now neither is moving closer to work as we are paying a mortgage on our house etc. Anyway, I listed my car for $5650 based on the KBB value of $5747. I'm looking for either a Toyota Rav4, Honda CRV or Subaru Forrester predominantly. In my search on Craigslist, I found a 2000 Toyota Rav4 with 56k miles, listed for $5000. The owner is open for a trade (I suggested it) after both our mechanics inspect each other's cars etc. Would this be a good trade? Have only seen pictures of the vehicle online but am going to go see it today.
Also looking into a 2000 Honda CRV: 60k miles, $5000 and 1999 Honda CRV: 76k miles, $5700. Not sure if either of those are open to a trade yet. Thoughts? Going to go look at the Rav4 in about 2 hours. Will post update. Your input is appreciated.

I was looking at the Ravs in that year range a few months ago. Terrible reviews. Apparently the trannys go bad on a very high number of them due to design issues. I could be wrong.

Oh no! I hope not.

I haven't researched your exact situation, but my gut likes the 2000 CRV with only 60k miles. I don't like any of those cars, wouldn't want to be the one who had to work on them.

Follow up. So I went to see the rav4 yesterday. Looked good, drives like a rav lol. Not a 4wd, instead FWD. New transmission and radiator fan. Price for mileage is good but I think it's not what 1. I want to drive and 2. what I am willing to trade in my car for.
