Question about Chase Business Credit Card for DW
« on: March 26, 2023, 07:45:16 PM »
I recently applied for and am about to earn the welcome bonus on a Southwest business credit card. I added my DW as an "employee" even though we actually both own the business (a duplex, we live in one unit and rent the other). I figured this would be easier than setting her up as an authorized user plus I've heard that sometimes a company will count that user as "having applied for the card" for tracking purposes.

Anyway, we've about hit the minimum spend for this card and are looking to get a Chase business credit card for DW. The question is: Will Chase flag her for a) already being listed in their system as an employee on another card (the one in my name) or b) applying as a business owner of a property that I've used to qualify for the Southwest.

I'm thinking the answer is no to both but I'd like to poll the public - thank you!!

My understanding is that if she is an "authorized user", she would be dinged by Chase if she fails the 4 cards in 24 months rule. Sometimes if she is refused, you can call Chase and remove the authorized user designation and try again.

Wow, a phone plan for fifteen bucks!
