Question about 401k fees
« on: January 27, 2020, 10:16:45 AM »
I'm trying to get an informal market surveys of mid-sized companies 401k fees.
Mid size:  500 - 2000 employees.

Would anybody mind finding and providing that info?

I was hoping to have the following information:

Your Company Size:  ~1000
Your 401k Provider:  Principal
Your Lowest Cost Index Fund Annual fee:  .05%
Any additional administrative fee:  0.22% annually, compounded monthly

My CFO has told me that our new 0.22% fee is an "industry standard" and a pro rata charge is a "best practice".  And is ~20% lower than the average fee in our industry / company size.

thanks for the info.

Anybody else willing to share?
From the sparse responses so far, I'd reckon we're "mid-tier" in terms of cost.  Not the worst, but not the best.
