Title: Professional indemnity insurance
Post by: alwaysonit on September 10, 2014, 02:31:23 PM
I've been given professional tax advice that I'm not 100% sure about and don't want it to come back and bite me in 30 years.

Is there any way to find out what professional indemnity insurance an advisor has without asking directly and hence insulting them? And what happens re the insurance in say 40 years time when the advisor has passed away and then the tax authorities decide that he was wrong?

If you're unsure, I think you should get a second opinion from a second professional tax advisor.  That's much cheaper than making a mistake /searching out the people who were wrong years later.
