OK, with that said, I bought an unlocked Samsung Galaxy S3(GT-I9300) to replace my old cell that was annoying the shit out of me. So far, I love everything about it. However, I can't for the life of me figure out how to update the firmware on this F-ing thing. I'm hoping that with all the techy geeks around here someone can help me out or point me to another forum that can. According to the 'About device' screen, I'm on Android 4.0.4. All my googling suggests I should be able to get up to Kit Kat but when I try updating from the phone's setting and from my PC with KIES, it says it's already up to date. I'm suspecting that my problem is that this is an international version and I'm living in the Artic Tundra...err...Wisconsin. Can anyone help a chick out?
