Prescription Sunglasses
« on: February 16, 2023, 01:50:40 PM »
Where is the cheapest place to buy these? It's so far to tell online because at best they advertise the frame cost, but the cost for the corrective lenses is all over the place. I can go through every website making a custom set of glasses and then compare prices, but I figured I would ask here first in case anyone had already done that.

Thanks

I can't tell you whether they're the cheapest, but I just bought glasses with transition lenses from Warby Parker. They're good. I think they'd be cheaper if they were "just" prescription sunglasses (versus transition lenses), but I could be wrong about that.

I just ordered a pair of glasses from Zenni (https://www.zennioptical.com). No idea if they're any good, but they are crazy cheap—I spent $23. I should get them next week, and will (try to remember to) post an update!

Zenni Optical is currently winning the race.

Costco is in second. Only 3 styles under $40, but they are polarized...

I have used Zenni as well, probably the last 6-8 pairs of glasses for me and my wife in the last 10 years.  They've been just as good as anything ordered from the optometrist and 1/4 (or less) of the price.

Rapid turnaround! My Zenni glasses were just delivered. The quality seems every bit as good as my Warby Parker glasses. Pleasantly surprised so far.

Walmart can be pretty cheap. You unfortunately do have to actually go to the Walmart though.
