Title: Porting numbers in and out of Ting
Post by: fidgiegirl on September 30, 2016, 02:21:43 PM
We want to switch from Verizon to Ting but I am fuzzy on how it works to port the number.  Do I initiate it from the Verizon end or the Ting end?  As it's being ported, will we be without phone service for any amount of time?  If we decided to go back to Verizon later on, can we port our number back?  I poked around on the Ting site and found nothing beyond "buy a SIM card."  Thank you for your help!

I ported a number from Verizon to Ting a while back.
Initiated on the Ting side, I needed to give them both my number and the account number (I believe they needed the PIN too?).
Entire process took about four hours but I was never without service.  I really liked Ting customer service - they walked me through the process.
