It doesn't appear Trustmark is providing much value here. LTC isn't a common concern at your age, and in 25 years there's no guarantee Trustmark will still exist or that 300k of coverage will be significant.

I'd much rather have $284k cash than $300k of difficult-to-access policies. Discipline yourself and save the normal way!

There are a number of threads about LTC Insurance on this forum. A little Google-fu will yield plenty of discussion.

In a nutshell, they'll take your money, then spend it all defending against paying it out. Better you invest those premiums and retain full control of your own money.

Thanks!  Did not consider these points.

Re: Work is offering Life Insurance with Long Term Care Rider. Is it worth it?

I have a life insurance policy with LTC rider from Trustmark. Not because I want it or think I need it, but because I'd rather pay $27 a month for that than $58 a month for the Washington State run LTC plan I would otherwise have to pay in to and which I'll most likely never be eligible to see any benefits from.

Obviously this does not help you with your question but I feel an obligation to grumble about it when given an opportunity...
