State Tax Question / DE-MD-PA
« on: February 07, 2018, 07:08:34 PM »
Here's my situation:
I got married in 2017 and moved from DE to MD.
I have worked in PA the whole time.
My wife has always live in MD.

PA and MD have a reciprocal tax agreement, but DE does not.

Previously I filed non-resident in PA, resident in DE, and I was credited with the tax I paid to PA. I have no income in DE.

I'm having trouble figuring out exactly what I should do.

I am using HR Block's software and I've prepared a MFJ federal return.

I think I'm supposed to turn the MFJ into a pair of Dummy MFS returns, then we would have to submit those to the states and base the state returns off of that? Do I need to provide my wife's to PA and DE even though she has never lived or work there?

Or can I use my wife's residence in MD, MFJ as Residents of MD and Non-Residents of DE and PA?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Wow, a phone plan for fifteen bucks!
