It might be good for walking but not for social....just one more thing for people to not communicate with one another.
The tons of people I've talked to, both playing and trying to figure out how in the hell to play, would disagree.
It's a video game, yes, but it involves being outside, going interesting places, and the player density is probably 2-3 orders of magnitude higher than Ingress, which is the previous game by the same company.
Unless you have unlimited data plan, this is not Mustachian
I can't speak for other people, but I've been playing a bit in the evenings and when I'm out on a Project Fi device, and I've used... 0.15GB. Some of that is from other data. It's really not very data intensive, which is something Niantic got much better at from the early days of Ingress (which was using uncompressed JSON exchanges).
I pay $10/GB, so data cost of the past few nights of wandering has been $1.50. I'm pretty well OK with that.
People fucking drive to catch a pokemon? That is as bad as it could be. lights out
Yup. They drive for other reasons too. People drive a lot. I mean, I've heard people who I'm pretty sure were out driving just for the sake of driving.
Get over yourself.
