Title: Pending transactions
Post by: Imonaboat on November 14, 2015, 02:15:31 PM
Could anyone confirm which banks will display pending transactions on Personal Capital? I was thinking of moving to Ally or Alliant, but would like to verify this before I make the move.

Thanks!

Not sure if I explained it correctly.

With my current bank:
I get paid $10,000 and immediately buy $10,000 in Vanguard funds.

Since my current bank will not give pending transaction info to Personal Capital, I show the same $10k in my bank account and in Vanguard, which artificially inflates my net worth and other charts since the bank will not send the transaction info until it completely clears.

Does anyone have Ally bank or Alliant bank that can verify that this does or does not happen to them?

I don't have a great number of accounts added, but Personal Capital doesn't count pending transactions for any of them, while Mint does for all of them. So I always thought it was a design decision by Personal Capital to not include these in any calculations, rather than something on the bank's end. Because pending transactions do show up in the "Transactions" tab, just not in the charts/calculations.

But again, I may be wrong: I don't have accounts at many different banks, so maybe it's just a coincidence that all my banks behave the same way.

"Pending transactions are only visible if your financial institution allows."

Personal capital places the blame on the individual bank, but does not list which work or don't work. I know many people use ally/alliant here, I'm just hoping someone can verify either way.
