German second hand sources?
« on: October 16, 2013, 08:17:02 AM »
Hi Fellow Mustachians!

I always hear "don't buy new, get it from Craigslist"... well, bummer, we don't really have that in germany (there *is* a german CL, but it has almost no userbase).

So, what are good sources for second hand stuff in germany? How do I find good second hand shops offline - I think there are some in town, but how do I find them? Any ideas to locate them, if they do not advertise online?

Any opinions on eBay Kleinanzeigen: http://kleinanzeigen.ebay.de/anzeigen/ ? Is that any good?

I also know a few local online groups, but the userbase is very small as well.

Hi Hoerwolle,

I used ebay Kleinanzeigen twice to sell and bought once. Each time I didn't buy/sell locally and had no problems. As a buyer you need to trust in the other side (if you do not buy eyeball-to-eyeball), therefore I would rather advice you to buy locally. If you are into second-hand buying I would recommend using it.

www.quako.de is another site you could check. (But I guess you found this just by google-ing yourself :-)!)

I would point you to some local search:
http://kingkalli.de/second-hand-laden/ was one of my first search result for your region.

Well, I can hardly imagine good shops if they do not advertise online - even our local second hand kids shop is online. At least you should be able to get the opening hours.

Regards,
Woody

Thanks! :)

Really good ideas and good resources! I hadn't seen Quoka yet - and neither the others. Your Mustachian skills outmatch mine obviously :) And here I thought my goolge-fu was strong.

When I was in Austria there seemed to be a lot of decent flea markets which might also be worth scoping out.

Wow, a phone plan for fifteen bucks!
