does anyone know of a place where basic principles of FIRE have been distilled into one post/webpage?

Well, for all its oversimplification, the Shockingly Simple Math post does a decent job outlining HOW it is possible to retire early

the 'Zero to Hero' is more conceptual

I also like the Mad Fientist's more applied approach, and focus on being Financially Indepenent (FI) over Early Retirement.

JL Collins hits most of the bases with his very short 'manifesto'

But I gotta ask ... is reading a few dozen pages really too much to ask for a decision that could presumably impact your life for decades? Why must such a rich subject with multiple facets be distilled into just a few hundred words?

i personally have read quite a bit on it
i was wondering bc i might have to teach a short seminar on it, on short notice.

Fair enough. There was a thread a ways back about teaching financial literacy and FIRE that you might find helpful, but I can't find it right now (try search function).
Who is your audience and how long will your seminar be?

i told a seminar that i could teach it as a break out session, if there were interest
it seems disorganized so it's possible they'll tell me the same day
