What should my side gig be?

Help me figure out a side gig please!

I want to increase my income, using the 2-3 hours of uninterrupted time I have each day to while my kid's asleep. So I'm looking at something that I would be doing at home.

My background/current job is in social service work, however I don't think this will help much if I am only looking at things I can do from home. I have a university degree (social science), have been told I write well (essays), I'm good with numbers/math.

I am looking to make a minimum of $10/hour (or the equivalent, which would be about $600/mth).

I live in Canada.

Depending on your area, selling blood plasma might be an option. The different companies pay different amounts. You can also multitask while doing this. For instance, you could catch up on reading, or perhaps do certain online work while the machine is filtering your blood.

I have a friend who grades papers online for WGU in addition to her regular job. The hours are flexible but you must commit to 15 hours per week. She makes $22 per hour.

Other ideas are medical transcription, tutoring, or proofreading/ copy editing. I don't know what these pay.

If you are crafty you could sew/do alterations for people, or make things to sell online. Or you could flip items on Craigslist. Or use the time to decrease your expenses, such as by couponing or doing your own oil changes.

Copywriting for small businesses could be an option to pursue.  I'd recommend something you're intrinsically interested in.  Why?  Because most people who don't enjoy their side hustles quit. And hey.. if you're working outside of work, it might as well be somewhat fun, right?

Lots of options... things I have done:

Freelance writing/blogging, freelance editing, freelance programming, etc... all things you can do from home in your spare time. Be careful though, it is a slippery slope from making some extra money to suddenly having no free time.
