old calphalon

Has anyone tried to dispose of old calphalon cookware? They have a recycling program, but it says on the website you have to have the paperwork it came with to send it (which is long gone). I don't want to have to (gasp!) call customer service. I just have one pan. Any ideas for disposal?

There is a Facebook group called Buy Nothing, which may have a group in your neighborhood.  It is great for getting rid of stuff that has value, but not really worth selling.   

Got rid of an old Calphalon pot just yesterday, hours after I posted it.

Well I don't have facebook. It's in really bad shape. I don't think its usable. I think it has no value, but I don't want to put it in the trash.

You'd probably be surprised about what you consider has no value versus someone else.

Even if the handle is broken off or its bent out of round I bet you'd find someone who would take it for free, bang it back into some kinda shape and have a friend weld a handle back on.

If you don't want to be bothered making a posting or dealing with craigslist you could always leave it out front with a 'free' sign.

What kind of calphalon is it?  I had a number of hard anodized  aluminum calphalon pots and pans that lost their finish on the inside.  They were under lifetime warranty.  I sent them in and the company replaced them with new ones (that are holding up well).  That was a few years ago.

ETA: no paperwork of any kind was required and no questions were asked.

I have a friend who cruises garage sales for Le Cruset (sp?) pans and sends them in to the company: they send her a new one no questions asked.

I'd probably say that no longer have the paperwork due to fire/flood and still expect them to honor the warranty since it's obviously their product: worth a stamp/email to try.

It's got cooked on tomato sauce. I've gotten pieces of it off but I'm not going to try anymore because I switched to cast iron. I guess I'll call :-(
