Title: No checking account: is this possible?
Post by: iris lily on March 04, 2014, 08:00:19 AM
I get a sense that people a generation+ younger than me do not have a checking account, and I am talking about people with jobs and perhaps a house. These are certainly responsible people. Is this true? I can't imagine how one functions without a checking account. Maybe my perception is wrong, here.

Comments?

Just curious, what gives you this sense?

Everyone I know who is old enough to be working has a checking account.  That said, I don't know anyone in my generation that carries a checkbook around.  We do our banking online for the most part.

It's becoming very difficult to work for pay without a bank account for direct deposit, though savings accounts can be used.
