Title: Nissan Leaf battery life
Post by: solon on November 16, 2017, 10:26:31 AM
I found a 2012 Nissan Leaf SL, 42,000 miles, $7,999. That's the final out-the-door price.

It has 10/12 battery bars. Does anybody know how much longer that battery should last?

The best answer would be to use a OBD reader and check the actual capacity with leafSpy etc.

Having said that we have a 2013 leaf in our fleet, and only lost one bar of capacity over the last 2 yrs of ownership, bought used for ~10k with 35k miles IIRC

Depending on daily use, and charge method, it might be just fine for the next. 5- 7 years easily. Given your past the warranty age of the battery, I’d pass on this one.
