Title: New Credit Card Offers Available Right Now?
Post by: ILoveMyBlondeStache on January 16, 2015, 08:00:24 AM
Hello everyone,

My fiance and I are getting married next month on the 20th.  It will be a very small courthouse wedding, and we are having a family style dinner afterwards with our closest family and friends.

We received the estimate from the restaurant and it looks like it will be about $1600.  I would like to take advantage of a new credit card offer if possible, but am not aware of the best offers available right now.  I figure if I apply this week, I will have the card and be able to use it to pay for the final bill for dinner.

Are you aware of any that this one purchase will satisfy the spending requirement for? (or at least come close to the requirement?)  I'm very new to the idea of credit card churning and could use some suggestions.

Thank you in advance!

Chase Southwest Airlines Rapid Rewards card (Premiere or Plus) requires $2000 in 3 months, which you should be able to do pretty easily.  You get 50,000 pts which is good for several round trip flights.

Chase Hyatt card requires $1000 spent in 3 months and gets you 2 free nights at ANY Hyatt hotel in the world.

It depends on what you would like to do.

There are several sites that list and compare current credit card offers that I've found very useful in the past. There's one on the MMM blog, also mymoneyblog.com, also I think FatWallet keeps a list. There are probably others if you search. If you want travel rewards more than cash back, I bet MilesDividend would have good information.

Yup - here's three big ones:

There are several that give you $100 for spending $500. How soon will you be making a major purchase (i.e. mortgage)? If it isn't soon, I'd get 3 of those cards that you like the best all set up and apply for all three at the same time. Then get all three offers... $300 for $1500 spending would be very nice!

In the past 4-5 months I've gotten:
